Thing I find the most curious is that none of the respected journalists have come out and said anything. Would also expect the club to make a statement and squash this if there is no truth whatsoever.
So why you think I have a hard time to understand other people's views?
Because it’s based on annual rumour that happens every time Glazers go to Saudi Arabia and fans desperation. Nothing more to it.

Agree. Maybe not so much the club but the clubs usual mouthpiece journalists. The only reason I don't think it's fake because of the people who have consistently reported it over in SA. One's a sports journalist (who was with RA & other Saudis the other day) who keeps saying that United will only improve under new owners and the other guy apparently being the Saudis PR guy.
There has to be a reason why they keep pushing this story. Not seen them do this with us last year.

If any of these rumours are remotely true then I am putting a positive spin on the takeover. Very likely due to my deep-rooted affection for the club.
It's great and exciting to witness changes that are emerging in Saudi over the last few years. If anything, these changes should be supported. Purchasing United will be a massive catalyst for those changes. It will give the country and it's leaders more media attention either positive or critical and will add pace to the changes.
If we're going to be judging buyers of multi-million/billion businesses on their present and past conduct then there are a lot of examples of massive businesses owned by corrupt individuals and governments. I'm not saying this is ethically or morally correct but it's the way of the world and big business. Personally, I may not be morally or ethically upstanding as some of the posters in this thread, so you have my respect if you're disgusted and appalled by any prospective purchase of the club. You are better people than myself.

Like you say, using United to better themselves maybe a way of them making themselves more accountable? Maybe or maybe not. But I will like to believe so. Half glass full kind of guy me.

A nobody on LinkedIn this time, media had stirred rumours purely based on representatives going to Saudi Arabia. Which happens every year and ignores fact club have a strategic partnership and other business in the country.
There’s no takeover happening for a good while yet, Glazers aren’t going to sell when club value has dropped. Their here to squeeze every last penny.

Maybe you've taken it too literally that all the I's have been dotted and the T's have been crossed. I take it as there has been a agreement reached and the club will be sold. Remember, the person who broke the news is Saudi and English is necessarily his native language, so he may have not been able to express himself properly.
To be fair, the changes in Saudi Arabia recently have been pretty positive, in between the mass executions and cutting to pieces of a journalist.

Now I'm not saying this is absolute gospel that the club has been sold, however, you may want to research the "nobody" you refer too. He is verified on twitter and clearly has links to the Saudi hierarchy. He's a journalist and PR guy for one of the princesses out there. He's hardly a nobody. Also, another journalist, who was pictured with RA the other day, and close links to Saudi hierarchy, has been constantly pushing the theme over the past few days that Glazer's should leave and new owners should come in. So I wouldn't say it's fake.

I don’t know the specific legal code but it’s a listed company, if any kind of agreement had been reached they’d be obligated to announce it.
I believe i actually said everyone has their own moral compass and as such will have their own views on what is or isn't morally wrong.

Small clubs like City jumped at the chance of the blood money as their only chance of success, thankfully we aren't that desperate to sell out all sense of morality.

As it is we have people pining for this to be true, not because it's right for us, but because it's the only way they can see us been able to compete again, and it's hard to argue with that sentiment, the only alternatives seem to be watching the Glazers run us into the ground, another leveraged takeover, and watching City trounce all over our hard fought records in the years to come.
This is no doubt BS for now, but I see no other way than us having to do something like this to get us back to the top again.

I agree with the top paragraph. We don't need the Saudis for their money as such, we just need someone to allow us to be more competitive and have the correct structure in place. Glazer's have proven that they will not do this.
Widespread and continued condemnation from the UN, amnesty international, the EU etc etc has had no impact but you suggest they may change to impress the stretford end??
