Mufc is a ny stock exchange listed company. Their books is open for everyone to see. It's not that hard.

Your figure is way out of mark it's withchunting

Edit. Nope. I dont think so. Under any other owner there will be dividents to be taken.
Well I’ve taken that from multiple reliable articles online over the years. Perhaps it’s the dividends plus the debt they landed us combined?

You think the Saudi’s will take Dividends?
No, they will unlock our true spending/operating figure which has been clearly hampered by the Glazers - that much is obvious regardless of the finite specific figures.

This true spending/operating figure is what clubs like Madrid, Barca, City, PSG benefit from. But you seem happy to let potential owners eat into ours. Good plan.

when was the last time United owners shelled out for an actual, in their absolute prime, world star?
Fred is an icon in Brazil and was at the peak of his career. He's famously known all over Brazil, everyone knows his name. When you ask people there do you know Fred? They'll reply "Si si senor, it's my friend/cousin/son/teacher/neighbor". I'd say He is 89% a world star.

Glazer bought united by taking a huge loan and i believe each year part of our profit goes to paying off the interest and loan. We are definitely leaking money through the Glazers. The only argument for them would be that they have helped to ramp up the business part of the club.

We outspend madrid, barca, psg. Only city spends more than us.

You lot complaining about Saudi are hilarious.. I'm sure none of you use the oil they pump, or wear the clothes made by children in Bangladesh, or use Apple products from Chinese factories with suicide nets. I'm sure you're all active supporters of BDS and are boycotting Chinese made goods because thier country has Muslims in concentration camps. I bet you're all boycotting Indian products and services too because of the Genocide in Kashmir.

Selective outrage is the best kind.
What genocide in kashmir? I live in India and haven’t heard of any genocide there.

We had to spend huge because we literally lost our entire back line at the end of 2013/14. Our midfield also needed major surgery with Carrick on his last legs and the rest of the options deemed not of the required standard.

Contrast that with Barca, Madrid and PSG who had a strong base and didn't need to spend huge.

But we spend. Wisely or not is a different debate. We spend like a big non sugar daddy club

Of course we spend, but under the current ownership it won't be enough to challenge for the league unless we find a genius manager again. The Glazers ambition goes as far as finishing in the top 4 and that quite frankly doesn't do justice to the true potential of the club.

Madrid, Barca, Bayern are more ambition than us, and therein lies the problem IMO.

For me it's just a long term downforce. We have been dominating the english football for 20 good years. 5 years without league title and we're already begging the saud to come and save us so that we can spend and spend our way back to top.

Liverpool doesnt need sugar daddies, leicester dont, chelsea can win the league multiple times without having to have spend more than us.

We dont want progress and actually fighting for title. We just want the easy way out.

What do we call chelsea and city? Plastic waffle winner?

I'm not begging anyone to come and save us. But since the great man retired the clubs potential has not even come close to being realised from a footballing POV. The club should be run better in that regard and the successful templates are there for all to see and follow.

Chelsea needed a sugar daddy to get the ball rolling. And hired the best young manager at the time to lead them to that success.

Leicester also had a sugar daddy who helped them win the league.

Liverpool haven't won the league for almost 30 years and it remains to be seen if they can hold of City this season.

Can anyone sum up the situation quickly for me, for a person that has been avoiding reading this thread?

People losing their shit over some Arab guy who posted something on his Linked In page. Could be a PR move most likely as there were another posts on twitter from another Arab guy who literally campaigned Love United Hate Glazers. Evra was also caught dancing to Arabian music shouting gibberish.

But all in all, there's no concrete evidence that a take over will happen anytime soon. And when I said Arab guy I mean those with blue ticks on twitter. Not that it means anything since everyone can be a blue tick wanker these days. It's the same thing as what We already knew, They have interest in United, that's it.

Don't bother reading the thread.

You aren’t supporting them you’re supporting Man Utd. It doesn’t mean you agree with what the owners have done.

I don't agree with the owners and hence refuse to support anything that they own. The Saudis are purchasing United purely from a business/PR standpoint and I refuse to give them the exposure or my hard earned money in the form of tickets and merchandise purchases.

My belief in basic human rights trumps my love for football and United every single time.

This is exactly what I’m saying.

Nobody particularly wants the Saudi’s to own United but what we need is an owner that does not seek a financial return.

Without that we will never realise the potential power this club earned through decades of dominance.

Just look at Madrid’s rebuild this summer and compare that with ours.
They operate to their absolute limit, as should we, regardless of what we have spent before.

So if there was any small amount of truth in this then the mainstream media would be all over this, not just some wannabes of twitter and social media

The glazers get far too much credit for our increased turnover as all clubs have at least doubled their revenues over the last 10 years due to tv money etc.

There is not one single positive about their ownership on MUFC.

As I said earlier in the thread, all these tweets are aimed at getting supporters on side and engaging.

And if they do take over watch our annual profits rise through fake/dodgy sponsorships and commercial projects much like what City do.

I think there's one, which is allowing Fergie full autonomy during his tenure. Even though it was for their own benefit, you've remember that we weren't exactly pulling up any trees at the time of the takeover and had a fearsome rival in Chelsea.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Glazers sell to the highest bidder.

They are ruining the club and it might lose a lot from its market value with another 2-3 seasons like that. If thinghs don't improve on the pitch, City and Liverpool will over take United as the richest English clubs in Forbes' rankings.

All the parties in the supposed deal have enough money to buy silence from the media but I agree though this is fake news. No way a sale this big goes through with this relative silence in the media. I suspect that a tentative, unenforceable agreement was reached and we are still a long way off any concrete movement.

Haven't the owners of City being known to silence any criticism of them in the past in British media? I am sure I read that somewhere.

And these have multiple times the power the City owners have. All the same it seems far fetched that a deal could be concluded at some house in Riyadh with Richard Arnold standing for the Glazers and that's overlooking the regulatory requirements that need to be fulfilled when something like this is happening.

My suspicions are, from the Saudi side, MBS has given his go ahead hence some media guys in SA now openly engaging on the issue to gauge the likely reaction to the takeover. The fact that we have another Saudi sports journalist going full on LUHG is pretty revealing, the interest is real but the actual takeover is a long way off fruition.

Agreed though I think once they start the ball rolling this will be done pretty much overnight.

As you say the interest is real, that is clear.

They won't mess around, if they feel the Glazers will sell they won't squabble over a few £ they will just stump up.

I think this may well be done for the summer.

Not really.

only the upper management know what’s happening, and the Saudis.

the press will only know when it gets leaked, but right now it’s being kept very quiet.

the rumours that a take over is happening has been going for months, a few journalists speculated talks would happen while this investor event happened.

now we’ve seen 1 of our main men having a private meeting with several Saudi power men, is that a coincidence?

maybe it’s not as close “yet” and they’re considering the option, hence all the talk on Twitter and them genuinely asking for opinions if it’s a good idea.

I think the glazers are deciding now could be a good time to leave, they’ll give the Saudis the option in the summer. Watch this space.

From pure conjecture I think this is the reason why the PR guy who has gone berserk with this story said it was done. If there had been prior discussions over the deal I would think that Arnold was sent with a ball park figure that would the Glazers would consider selling at and the Saudis had no problem with it.

I don't think the Glazers can afford to stay for 3-5 years with the club in this mess. When the big deals start to expire I think we will sign deals that reflect our performances more, even if we remain the biggest draw, we will struggle to get better deals than the ones we managed five years ago.

Goes the other way too in regards to the British media, they would be out in force saying it isn't true as well.

They are purposely been kept in the dark.

I think vanderpants makes a good point though, you’re forgetting about the British media’s tendency to constantly publish stories without an ounce of insider information or research, so even if they’ve been kept in the dark you’d expect a few speculative pieces based on nothing.

They are clearly trying to sportswash their image like UAE n Qatar did. I don't condone what has gone on in their country but they aren't idiots. They know sport is what brings people together and keeps the world spinning. Imagine a world without sport. My word it would be dreadful.

They've got a annual WWE event now plus they've got a huge boxing event fast approaching with Joshua. They won't stop there. Don't be shocked if they have an F1 race and even more over coming years.

We are £500m in debt and got leaches as owners. We can't really afford to be picky sadly. Bring them on I say.

I think it's become obvious that without a wholesome change of ownership right down to management this club is going nowhere. So without getting into the moral side of things this would be the only thing to get us out of the shit. If it's the right thing to do or not is another question.

This will not be done over night if true.

It would be interesting with a poll on this takeover. It seems the caf are in the Saudi camp, the hell no camp and I don’t like them, but it’s okayish camp.

Once they establish the figure/cost it will be done pretty quickly.

They ain't going to sit negotiating they will just pay.
