I don't think Mourinho should ever have been sacked.

Yes, there are some better candidates out there, but none offer much more certainty than OGS right now. The re build will take a while to complete. I don't see the need for knee jerk reactions at manager level.
Sweet Jesus! He should never have been appointed in the first place.

Making a double sub at 87th minute says a lot.

The man is inept.

Yeah, the purpose of those was to bring energy on and cause wolves to drop deep presumably playing on tired legs. Why we cant make that change ever 5 minutes earlier is strange.

Pogba and Matic are good at holding the ball in a physical battle too. I think we definitely missed Matic today, as he has been pretty good lately.

Yeh. My post was more on the attackers side. Midfield with Pogba, Matic and McTom there are fine.

Fred MOTM. His offensive improvement is remarkable.
Periera’s worst game in the shirt. And that’s saying something.
James poor. Martial anonymous. Fair intro by Bruno, but he really wasn’t anything special. Completely anonymous in the second half.

Ole is a coward with the 2 subs in the 85+ minute. And where was the walkout?

would have liked Dalot and Williams instead of Shaw and AWB in 60 min.

Good team except dont want to see martial anywhere near to the team. Hope Mason can fill in OR Ighalo.

Those are decent options to have for those 2 ST positions I think and Martial plays well with a partner.

shite

so many of our players are out of confidence or tired it seems

without Rashford, we're hopeless

Williams should get some starts at right back I feel

The quality of football between us and Wolves was pretty scary. They are only a couple of signings from being a top 3 team. 60% of their team would walk into our team, that's how far we have fallen....

Neves for sure. Jimenez and Traore possibly. Who else?

Pretty much as expected. Nullified each other. Shaw was really good defensively, took responsibility and covered for others, positionally I thought he was clever tonight. MOTM between him and Maguire.

Jimenez probably MOTM overall. Neves did well too early on.

Mountinho, Jota and arguably Doherty
Meh on Jota, I'd take one of him or Traore for our RW. Meh with Moutinho too. But I get what you mean. They seem to have a more stable, balanced squad, that plays more cohesively.

That's because of their manager.

Yes, and he's been there for nearly three years to build this team.

You could give Ole 20 years.

We'd still sit in the same boat we sit in now.

Time isn't given. It's earned.

Sheffield United are above us.

We were fairly shite - Pereira absolutely nowhere near good enough to play in the Premier League and Daniel James looks shot.

thought all our defenders played well with AWB the best of the bunch but we were massively let down by everyone in front of them. Martial a huge disappointment, again.

That said, Wolves are surely the most overrated team in the country. So, so dull and negative. A Hipster’s West Brom.

Ole looking chirpy at the end is fecking painful. Shows how far we have fallen, he's happy with the draw.

Of course he was happy with the draw, he essentially played for one, hence not making any changes until the final 15-20 mins. This man is mediocrity personified, he genuienly thinks a point at home to Wolves and a clean sheet is a good result for a club of our stature.

Amazed that Bruno can walk right into the team that soon after joining.

If you ever needed evidence that we don’t actually have a “system” of play that a new player needs to learn, there it was.

This is a damning and excellent point when you think about it.

And then that same player was moved from his best position into a double pivot with Fred.

I mean if that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does.

So as some of you guys said, it's not the manager fault that the team lacks of depth, and he doesnt have any responsibilities that we lack pace, stamina, forward, creativity or even desire to win? Even while we have 2 transfer windows plus we are man utd (not to say we are the same club as we used to be when players dream to play for, but come on, people still line up to be here).
Oh okay. Didnt know the job is that easy. I would advise my doorman to go for his dream and apply for the job soon.

Or maybe it was because we were desperate after the Matic red card. It was either him or Lingard today.

Him or Lingard in a double pivot?

Why exactly? Garner could have been used. You could have gone with a back 5 again and used Fred-Pereira there(giving them a bit more freedom to venture forward).

There was no need at all to drop Bruno with Fred as a double pivot. It reeked of no plan.

Nah, Bruno started as a 10, but got moved back because Pereira kept making mistakes. Ole's reasoning was for Bruno to see more of the ball, which wasn't completely false to be fair, personally I thought he wasn't much into the game at the start. But yeah, if we hadn't signed Bruno, it would've been Lingard starting, Andreas Fred double pivot today.

Maybe, he shouldn't have started Pereira at all considering how bad he's been for the past month.

I agree. But at this point how can it even be up for debate? Ole's a tactical car crash. Lineups, formations and substitutions are mostly baffling.

He has to resort to abandoning plans so often in games that he comes across as amateurish. He has picked some good players for transferring into the club. I suspect the ONLY way of everyone saving face here would be for Poch to come in and Ole to become Director of Football.

If that role is designed to largely be a head of recruitment type role then I wouldn't even be against that happening asap.

Poch to coach the players that he and Ole bring to the club together.

Despite me being in the Ole out camp before he was even appointed, I'm not against him being employed at the club in the right capacity for his qualities to add value.

Brutal

We are very poor.

We move the ball so slow, painful to watch. Bruno did enough good things to give hope but was out of the game in the 2nd half.

Andreas useless as per usual. And what was that 87 minutes sub about. So stupid.
He probably spent more than 15 minutes wondering who was more suitable to come on and do nothing, Lingard or Chong

One thing is for certain. We can't afford to be missing our best players. Not even one of them. Pogba. Rashford. Mctominay. Maguire (and maybe Bruno and AWB) are indispensible. We just don't have the depth or quality in the squad to replace them without a MAJOR drop off in performances.

Ole has been really unlucky with injuries this season. Almost no other side has experienced losing their best player for much of the season, let alone 2 or 3 of them.

Keep seeing this - we got 5 points from our first 4 games with everyone fit at the start of the season and you could argue a lot of these injuries are players being played when injured or being run into the ground. That's not luck, it's bad judgement.

Stop talking utter bullshit. Cardiff was a shambles of a team. It wasn't Ole's fault they got relegated, and to keep bringing it up to attack Ole is pathetic.
Sure, I mean he was only there for six months, brought in seven players and they were worse than when he arrived. Oh, and none of those players lasted twelve months.

He is clueless. If you accept this you will be fine.

Bruno and Fred were good. Lets get a holding midfield next year which we can manipulate in and out with McTominay/Fred + Bruno and then get a left and right winger for Rashford.

I watched the match without being on here. A lot of you frot yourselves senseless on your misery. Team looked better with Fernandes, with Matic in and him at 10 this would have been a win, Martial appalling, 10 position appalling, Mata past it, James a squad player, everything else looking good.

Did we win?

As others have said, this is an interesting point. Now it makes me wonder how long did it take for Larsson to start when we picked him up on loan back in 2007?

Both good points and worrying. But we shouldn't be surprised. We still haven't seen any real noticeable system or improvement when we play against such teams as Wolves.
