Not sure about the official statement but the infowars alert that popped up on my phone told me that it's something to do with gay frogs. What’s the story with Russia? Haven’t heard anything from them

Because you’re talking crap. AGAIN! Stop. Who gives a sh1t about your phone alerts. Deal in Facts, from the official source data. Or don’t post anything.
Here is the only link you need.Gov.uk
Stop getting your fanny in a flap and spouting inaccurate nonsense on every single page. At best it’s annoying. At worst it’s irresponsible.
Nostradamus always comes up during these types of events.
Here we go!
will you still drop her off on monday ?
we are really debating atm to stay home with our daughter come monday
You walk over to her right now and tell her that a talking pigeon says "it's not a flu it's closer to viral pneumonia you utter bellend, now give Outlaw a gobble".As long as me and my GF have to go to work we have no choice unfortunately. And my GF has also the "It's just a flu" stance anyways (like 90% of people over here).
Some good news:
So its getting real now... the Italian government is looking to enact a law in the next few hours that prohibits entry or exit from Lombardy and places a number of big cities in other regions under quarantine and stops people moving around. It's pretty much the equivalent of sealing off Greater London.
Partner's mum's being tested. Results next week.
We're assuming it's not, as she recovered from the worst of her symptoms pretty quickly but I guess many do. Only one way to be sure.

Jesus. Locking down the whole Lombardy region - no one allowed in or out for a month. Their hospitals must be about to collapse or something.
Can a European democracy impose a Chinese-style widespread and long-term lockdown without people rioting? We're about to find out, I guess.
Yes, second oldest after Japan I believe. I think the disaster is here, and it is now sadly.Arent the Italians one of the oldest populations in the world basically a recipe for disaster if something serious isn’t done.
it’s needed god knows what happened but visitors from Italy basically spread it throughout the whole of Europe. The numbers are way off on official cases I think.
There's over 10 million people in the Lombardy region. It's bound to impact on the rest of the country in a major way.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/07/italy-set-to

fecking hell - is that for real...!?
Yep, there's a mass exodus happening here as I'm typing this, everyone is fleeing while they can, streets leading towards the highways are backed up with vehicles right now. Guess I'll be living in a ghost town for the coming weeks. So its getting real now... the Italian government is looking to enact a law in the next few hours that prohibits entry or exit from Lombardy and places a number of big cities in other regions under quarantine and stops people moving around. I can't see this being used prophylactically but it should decrease symptoms innthose infected and save their lives.Praying this can solve the outbreak as it's now getting out of hands, Iran is looking grim.
Yeah, we're down on the south coast of England. Are you in the UK - are results taking a week? A lad from work was allowed in on Monday having been in Asia for a week. Got tested Tuesday, no results by Friday - had hoped no news meant good news...
My mum has hypertension and diabetes and has just turned 70. She also works two days a week volunteering as a teacher for a local school. Fan fecking tastic...Some figures from Italy concerning how this progresses and who is most at risk (correct at March 5).
Average of death is 81 (women 83.4, men 79.9)
Average age of patient is 61
Age of death:
90+ - 14.1%
80-89 - 42.2%
70-79 - 32.4%
60-69 - 8.4%
50-59 - 2.8%
Average number of medical conditions at death is 3.4, but broken down:
0-1 - 15.5%
2 - 18.3%
3+ - 67.2%
Hypertension - 74.6%
Heart disease - 70.4%
Diabetes - 33.8%
The median time from the onset of symptoms to hospitalization was 5 days and the median time between hospitalization and death was 4 days.
And that's why you don't leak news of an impending lockdown before it's active. Now the virus is going to be spread about even quicker.Yep, there's a mass exodus happening here as I'm typing this, everyone is fleeing while they can, streets leading towards the highways are backed up with vehicles right now. Of course he is. Ffs.
You know I can't stand him but I think this one is likely a nothing burger. Thermo Fisher is a huge company and own Applied Biosystems. I doubt he knows TF owns AB.
It certainly is strange! I just looked at some of the other WHO recommended kits and they have TF reagents as well.Fair enough, I just wouldn't put him past it tbh. You must admit it is strange how he refused the kits in February.

We're just wondering where they're all going. Presumbly to family elsewhere in Italy? What about their jobs -are these all non-working folk? And they are taking the disease elsewhere?
Stupid italians. Should have enforced the lockdown before announcing it.

Our little village is absolutely packed in August, when everyone comes "home" for the holiday month. Makes me more worried, I have to say.
Thanks, we’re really trying to keep to ourselves as much as possible.Hard to tell how is this gonna play out, but it is important you take care of yourself. If you can stay home as much as possible, do it, while taking all the extra precautions if you need to go out.
Yep, it seems so. It also seems that the number of infected per capita is double of that of China, so it might really get ugly there. With the last recession having affected Italy far more than the other developed big European countries (except Spain), it is a real pity.Whatever happens you must assume the Italian economy will be pushed well into recession by this. I doubt it can take the same punishment that the Chinese economy did

About a fourth of the population here in my city are students at the university and pretty much all of them come from all over Italy, I reckon they're all trying to get back home to their families while they still can. This is also a commuter city where people spend weekdays attending school/university/working and go home over weekends so I guess everyone that's basically not from this city is leaving right now.And they are taking the disease elsewhere?
