I know people love sensationalism, but can we just get the facts straight, no movement, 'other than for work and emergencies', which will still mean plenty of people moving about, and I assume people will still be allowed out to buy food, etc.

Now let's take a look at the UK population in those age ranges..

So that would suggest a rough death rate of..

60-69 years old ​	217,847​

Now I think letting 918,062 UK citizens die might be pushing it a bit even for a Tory..

It would translate to around
1.6 million dead 80+

This is what I'm thinking, if people can travel to work on the bus or train which is an enclosed space then why couldn't they go to the supermarket. From what I saw of China I think they had deliveries or you could collect your shopping but you could still go to the supermarket with protection.

I'm so fecking nervous right now.

I live on an island, Azores is an autonomous region part of Portugal.

Our local health authorities are asking quarantined students in continental Portugal not to return. This may soon include two of my brothers. I was trying to convince them to return all day before this notice right now.

In the meanwhile one of their Universities has just suspended every class and activity.

I struggle to think if this request becomes an enforced order, and more widespread, and if they will have to spend weeks or months away from the rest of the family. At a time like this I fear for their mental well being.

I'm in one of the current lockdown areas, and it's not what i would call a true lockdown. Businesses are being forced to allow employees to work from home, restaurant and bars have to close at 6pm, and anywhere where large numbers of people could gather are closed - shopping centres, stadiums, cinemas etc.

You can still move around freely from what i've seen today but virtually everything is closed and the streets are empty.

The decree provides for banning all public events, closing cinemas, theatres, gyms, discos and pubs, funerals, weddings and all sport events, including Serie A matches. All schools and universities will remain close until 3 April

Supermarket doesn't seem to feature in the list.

I suppose if you had good ventilation in the shops, i mean really good, it would help reduce the chances of catching the virus.

If it happens where i am in ireland, i have stocked up. So i would not need to go to the shop for about two weeks. After that though i would.

Italy's seems to be growing at a much faster rate. Which is horrific for Italy, but very good news for us.
