They will have to void the league , Liverpool looked done against Atletico after a season of non stop football and to allow them to carry on after having a break would make a mockery.

That would be incredibly harsh on Sheffield United assuming City's ban is upheld. They have a game in hand and would go 5th if they won it.
Is football so serious? I am not sure why people are taking pride that LFC may not be regarded as champions. Many small business are going to get destroyed. And these elite football clubs didn't cover themselves in glory by disrespecting fans. They would play in empty stadiums than suspend it.
If it come down to teams having a vote on what they want to happen if a decision is required, who votes which way?
Option 1) suspend season until coast is clear, then continue from where we are now.
Option 2) void this season, start new season when all clear. Pay out to teams based on current position with whatever qualification comes with it, but no trophies or relegation for the league.
The top 4 I would guess all vote option 1. I would guess from Brighton down would vote option 2.
Arsenal & Spurs option 2 aswell.
Wolves will probably go option 1 and everyone from 8th to 14th won't be bothered starting fresh.
The 2 toughest decisions would be on Man United & Sheffield United.
Man United are just outside top 4 and if things continued now, we would be confident of Chelsea & Leicester dropping enough points for us to get top 4, however a prolonged gap gives both of those teams time to refresh for the final stretch. On the other hand, with the returns of Rashford & Pogba, along with the signing of Fernandes, we would be confident of doing a better job next year round.
As for Shef United, right now they are in a good enough spot to feel that top 4 push is on but they too may have the thought about the prolonged delay giving the teams above the required rest. On the other hand, if given 7th spot before the season, they would have taken it without blinking.

Yes many small business could be destroyed and many people will die and it is very sad but that doesn't mean we can't laugh at the bin dippers, are we supposed to stop having a laugh and bit of banter?

Oh no, lets all fall into a depression because the situation is so grim.
I feel the leagues across the Europe will be finished even if it means going till June end but I feel the domestic cups will be cancelled for this season and even CL and Europa will be cancelled. I think there needs to be coordinated efforts that is required here. Euro needs to be postponed to next year, Uefa agreeing to cancel their competition this year and let all the league matches finish. There is 8 or 9 matches left for most teams so I can't see why they won't be able to complete the season even if it resumes in May. But Uefa needs to coordinate or else it will get messy.

You and Villa would have your destinies in your own hands. Arsenal would too (I think they would be able to get an EL spot if they won their last game by a 3 or 4 goals ...it is against City though

I would say if that were to happen and we finish 6th because SFU wins their game in hand and we are to end the season there, that would be equally frustrating for Ole and United fans. Maybe but then it can also be unfair for team who are picking up form and have some so called easier fixtures to play. We in fact have played most of the top 4 aspirants and had to play you guys at home, Spurs away and Leicester Away. In contrast Chelsea had to travel to City, Liverpool and play you guys and Wolves. And Leicester form wise were not doing any good, so there were nothing to say they might have finished 3rd. As I said unless the 38 games are played completely any other decision would be unfair on every team.

Well, you can say there's an element of luck involved (injuries, the teams we've had to play and not had to play etc) but the reality would be that 29 games would have been played across the board for everyone and really, any team that moans about it should have performed better over those games. We're in great form now but if we hadn't been so crap for most of the season we'd be higher in the table. Same logic applies to the other teams. The relegated teams and the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, Wolves etc would just have to deal with it too.
....or we can just cancel the whole season.
With regards to the lower league clubs who will lose their match day incomes, this could have huge ramifications to the future state of English football. What are the chances of lower league clubs going into administration from a lack of funding?

Maybe yes. In that case a game between you and Villa could be a tasty affair. They win they escape the relegation, you win you get CL (depending on City's appeal).
Well , ive just taken the plunge and cancelled bt sports . 22 quid cancellation fee but no footy for the foreseeable future. Next job is to cancel sky sports too . sad times but really think all sports will be cancelled till foreseeable future

This is the real tragedy of it all, as funny as Liverpool not winning the title would be they'd be OK. I don't know if this will be worse than ITV digital debacle for lower league clubs.
Either the season would have to start earlier or finish later to accommodate those extra games, that would be such a nightmare to organise. Unless of course, they scrap the winter break next year.
Surely the clubs can pause all financial obligations towards each other (i.e. payment of transfer fees) and the FA/PL have enough in their coffers to support clubs with salary payments for the lower league clubs (maybe in the form of a long term loan)
Yeah I think this will be the best solution. They'll cancel the league cup to make up the extra games, and realise it's actually a cracking idea and another 4 rounds of PL games makes them a lot more money.
With a potential break like this then people might just get used to it, and realise they don't need to watch football after all, far more interesting things to do with your time and money..
