I was pretty good, wasn't I?For those of you who weren't around at the time, my original username was Dr. Dwayne (because I was listening to a lot of Dr. Dre when I signed up). Many posters, especially @noodlehair, assumed I was a real doctor and I just sort of went with it for the lols.
Doest it make sense? Surely those children are going to see a lot of adults wearing them on their way to school and many parents will wear them when they are in public transports with them or when they pick them up from school? Also children aren't that easily scared, they understand a lot of things when it's explained to them.

Zero new deaths recorded in Denmark today for the second time this week (the other day being Tuesday). Positive news, so the timing of our very broad reopening starting on Monday probably couldn't have been much better all things considered. I've been very pleased with our parliament's handling of this until now.

So basically, go to work in central London but don’t use public transport and to make sure you don’t use public transport we’re going to charge you for using your car instead. Walk and cycle instead, even though we know that most of you who work in central London live miles away because you’re not multimillionaires.

One article cited just nine drivers out of 4000 were on 100k salaries [source]. From that article, the average base salary at the time of the article being written was £51,000 and goes up to about £70,000 when including benefits and overtime.
However, the main reason TfL have struggled financially in recent years is predominantly because they lost a major yearly government grant [source] and secondly the Mayor initiated the fares freeze on PAYG fares [source]. Note that travelcard/ season ticket fares still went up during that period. Note from the article as well, the fares freeze was only promised until the end of 2020 anyway. I'm not sure if there were any recent announcements to extend the fares freeze.

The most concerning thing is that whilst testing is staying consistent the number of new cases is barely changing.
But isn't that strategy just delaying?
I was all for lock down originally, but with the data we've now got, doesn't it suggest we should have done a partial lock down, with very strict social distancing for people over 45 and for those with under lying conditions?
Especially now, as we are entering the summer months, wouldn't we be much better off allowing mass community spread among the 30 million under 45 year old's? Otherwise aren't we just waiting for a vaccine that might not come and face the same issue each winter until it does?
Up until the end of May only 360 people under the age of 45 had died. Yesterday they NHS released data saying 95% of them had underlying conditions and the vast majority of those conditions were things they would have been aware of. So, in terms of healthy people, or those who had assumed they were healthy and under the age of 45, we are talking around 60 deaths. If 10% of the nation have had it, then if every other healthy under 45 year old in the country got it, we are talking under 600 deaths. When you look at death rates from other circumstances, it's obvious that we accept odds on activities where 600 out of 30,000,000 die, as a matter of routine, otherwise we wouldn't leave the house. So I think, we might be better off, being very strict with social distancing from people over 45 and with underlying conditions, but opening up all pubs, parks, stadiums, restaurants, schools and uni's to those under 45. Of course it will be logistically challenging (as many of the jobs needed to run those things are done by people over 45), but wouldn't it overall save more lives, as the spread would be much lower next winter?

As a guy just about under 45 the thought of going to the pub makes me say yes to this idea.
Yeah I’m sure there are more and other reasons but I think the salaries they pay their staff would contribute to their problems because they are definitely too high. Even nine drivers earning 100k is ridiculous.

It's been in the 3k range for few days only, coming down from a long period of 4.5-6.5k.
I hate how the UK gov is clearly enviously looking at European countries who have handled this 1000000x better than them, who are now in real position to start easing up lockdown and reopening economies, knowing full well that they are going to be made to look inept and totally lacking as a result. Especially with Brexit on the horizon - how is this still happening by the way!?
We never properly went into a lockdown in the manner Spain, Italy or France did. We were never ahead of the curve like Germany, Denmark or Austria and able to avoid the more stringent measures.
No sane country country would be loosening policy with the numbers we're still posting. It's just driven by utter greed, incompetence and pride.

The government has explained that we will officially be out of the epidemic on the first of June. Course a significant portion of the measures will still apply, so the whole epidemic label doesn't mean all that much. They mostly did it so they can avoid paying out the help packages in June.
Congregations of up to 50 people with social distancing will be allowed from Monday onward.
