Premier League Gameweek 30+31

The PL will be absolutely desperate for Sheffield to win this right now so they can sort of try and brush it off.

This genuinely might be right up there with Everton vs Arsenal as one of the worst matches I've ever seen.

I’m interested to see the fallout from this.

I'd imagine that Sheffield United would have grounds to take the PL to court but it will happen at the end of the season to see how much a loss of 2 points (assuming it stays a draw) impacts them in terms of league position.

Just woke up now after dozing off there in the last 30 mins. Seems like I didn’t miss anything as the chat is still about that disallowed goal that should have stood.

“Kept Liverpool forwards in his back pocket at the WCW” arse fans said. we’ll see what he’s made of tonight..

I believe he has a good tag team with Sting over there too

Awful game that, hope that isn't a sign of things to come

Probably is. Most of the first round of games back in Germany and Italy felt like pre-season shite as well. :(

I have a feeling there will be a lot of draws and low scoring games this round of fixtures. Saying that my acca is dead already as I thought villa would be all over them with Mcginn back. To be fair I think the goal that didn’t stand was Sheffield Uniteds only shot on target all match... I wasn’t really paying much attention. Boring game.

Dean Henderson now has the joint top clean sheets in the Premier League.

Ahh yes let's overreact to the poor quality in a Sheffield villa game. As if anyone really thought that would be a cracker coming out of the gate. If arsenal city looks the same then we can maybe think about discussing it but damn people relax

My Acca already fecked now because I had Sheff United to win. Not sure how that is acceptable this season.

Home team advantage taken to the next level by their technology not working....

Players getting back into the swing of things, wouldn't be surprised if the next game is similar.

O.k point for me. People expecting the first games to be 100mph and brilliant technical skills are losing a bit of reality I think.

Sheffield United only lost away to Man. City and Liverpool in the league this season which is amazing. They are a very tough team to break down although we had our chances.

I would say even that wouldn't give a fair result. Getting a win today could have huge for Shef United physcologicically whereas now they must be feeling down in the dumps and that the Champions League target has gone. I couldn't imagine how angry I would be if that happened to us.

Doubt the other teams down the bottom of the table will be too pleased either

I don't buy that at all. There is no way. We have seen the ball be obscured far more than that before and it still went gave the decision.

I think it's very difficult to compare situations when they are all so different. There's never two identical situations where the the ball is obscured in the same way and in the exact same spot in the goal. It's a bit ironic though that multiple tv-cameras clearly showed that the ball was over the line but the system designed to determine if it's a goal or not was obscured.

What I don't get is why no one in the VAR room or somewhere else can talk to the ref and ask him to go and look at the replay.

Probably wouldn't, you're right, but I don't feel like the PL are going to come out and give the win to SU either.

I can't see that happening tbh. Gutting for them but what can you do. Getting a few quid will hardly make a difference. These things used to happen pretty regularly before the technology.
