Premier League Gameweek 30+31

That plane message was disgusting and disgraceful. Hope the FA take action against Burnley. Such obvious racism cannot be tolerated.

Burnley always manage to roll over when facing city..it's like they don't even try to defend.

Burnley have been incredibly crap and soft in tackles. Nothing like we've become accustomed to. Two goals conceded from short corners, one off a quick switch of play and counter from Mahrez, and the peno.

I mean, Burnley are shit but that doesn’t take away from the absolute quality of City’s play.

They are shit, but today they haven't brought their shithousery like they always do against United for example.

City have scored 8 goals (minimum) in two restart matches. Getting ready for Chelsea quite well.

Why? It’s nothing to do with the club, and they’ve already moved to condemn whoever organised it. Don’t see why the club should be punished really.

5-0 up and Pep still coaching his team ...relentless

great manager

I think clubs like Burnley who rely kind of on shithousing will be in more trouble than clubs who play football with no support. Not having people cheering them on whilst kicking people etc. which was a real momentum boost. No on cheering them booting the ball down the pitch etc..

Are we going to see drink breaks in every game? I get the first game but this is getting ridiculous.

It does seem like all City need to do is buy a CB to partner Laporte, a winger to replace Sané if he leaves this summer and they’ll be fine. They’re so much better than everyone else. Probably need to start looking at a ST to replace Aguero...I don't see Jesus as being that guy.

This is actually very true. Crowd is actually the 12th man for the home crowd. Everton and Watford would have won yesterday.

I’m really hoping that we don’t see a similar score when we come over to Manchester

The FA are a reasonable bunch since when?

You are right of course but nothing surprises me anymore

Just found out about the plane and the banner. What a disgrace and embarrassment for Burnley football club to be associated with this lot. Their owners must be mortified.

Fair point actually. I take it back.
I think Burnley handled it well in truth. A statement condemning it within the hour, and a promise to ban whoever sorted it out. Pissed on their fire without letting it drag on into something bigger.

Said it before but think City will be even more dominant this last period. Nothing to play for but absolute no pressure for anything, no fan pressure or fan motivation for opposition which means they'll just dominate every game and open teams up IMO. We'll see next week with Chelsea, but I think itll be the same story as against Arsenal.

They have issued a statement condemning it. Unfortunately it might show what some of their fans are like.
No, and that's how bad assumptions can start gaining unnecessary traction, like associating this banner to Burnley FC.

Oh, it was a rhetorical question aimed at the poster I quoted. I know fine well that the banner has nothing to do with Burnley.

It’s ridiculous to expect them to be penalised for something a few neanderthal fans concocted.

City have come back from this break with furor which bodes well for us. And some wishful Chelsea fans thought City won't turn up against them because they'd have nothing to play for

Enjoy your beating Thursday.

I think they need a Fernandinho rep too. I don’t think Rodri is that type of player and they have looked poor this season with combos with Gundogan/de Bruyne/Silva and the like. They need someone who can replicate what he does, especially in big games.

Why? Did Burnley hire a group of fans to pilot a plane over Turf Moor? Is Burnley responsible for the air space above the stadium too? Heaven forbid that a football club is incapable to intercepting an airplane.

That's true, he said he will be staying another year though, right? Maybe bring in someone who can be his understudy next season.

Agree. Not only do they not have the crowd swelling up and supporting their persistent fouling, the ref will not get influenced by the emotions either.

Even staying he'll be 35 next season, he can't play the Fernandinho role anymore. He's a rotational CB now (probably better than Otamendi and Stones though). Its hard to see who can come in and do his job.

Another good point, not having the crowd bully the ref over small decisions will be a kicker for sure.

City are awesome when all things are equal and injuries + referees/VAR aren’t screwing them over. How on earth Agricultural Football FC are twenty points ahead of them in the table is one of life’s great mysteries.
Nah they've made ridiculous defensive mistakes all season. They don't deserve to win the league this season, plain and simple.

Absolutely. You can't allow teams to run right through you all season and expect to win a title. You guys are deserved champions.

Off topic, was next season to be crowdless again do you think it would have a massive effect on you guys, with Anfield being such a decisive factor in the big games.

Rodri is his understudy and his replacement. Why would they go out and spend on another specialist player again when they did that with Rodri? It's his first season in the league and he's done well and still adapting. He doesn't look as agile as Fernandinho, but he is disciplined in his role, can read what's going on around him and most importantly for him has good passing from deep and is composed on the ball.

That combined with our financial situation and I think we'll hit maximum 90 points next year. Wouldn't be surprised to see you bounce back and win another before Guardiola calls it a day. If Laporte is fit all season you'll be so hard to score against.

I don't think we'll get back to more than 90-95 point standard with the rest of the top 6 improving. I don't think it will effect ye too much but maybe a couple of points here and there, its just of all the top teams in England you guys are the one that people at least see as being driven on most by your fans, particularly in the CL. I mean we're likely to be the least affected because we play in front of no one anyway Thats me banned from all City forums for a joke.

I guess because both Fernandinho and Silva are leaving and as the bench tonight showed, City like to have two players that are like for like replacements rather than have a star player and then a youth player on the bench or someone that’s a level or two below who they’re replacing.

Maybe that will change with the court case.
