Give me one once a month when it happens when it matters in the CL rather than one every other week against the dross of the PL. 3-0 or 6-0 doesn’t make a big difference.

A lot of their games they have literally scraped through by the brilliance of a single player or the opposition being wasteful. They have flattered to deceive.

Have you been terrifying and marvelling in the CL this season do you feel?
My primary engagement in the debate was about the best team. I believe Liverpool have been the best team. The debate digressed a tad.
You’ve offered subjective adjectives to define a top top performance of which I’m unlikely to convince you of. The dominance Liverpool showed and comments from the Palace coaching team indicate it was all the things you’ve described. Fair enough if you don’t agree.

Those kind of performances are ridiculous one offs though. Even City don’t do that every week.
We’re more conservative and try to control games imo but that’s not to say we never dominate games. City are better at cutting teams open and easier on the eye, but they’ve had several games where they’ve lost control and lost out as a result.
I think we handle those moments better than they do.

Of course you're the best. You won the league. Table doesn't lie. The other poster is more than entitled to say he thinks City are better though. Obviously they haven't been over a full season or you wouldn't be top but it's possible to have that opinion. Especially after seeing what they did to you last week.
I used the adjectives that @RobinLFC used. Terrifying and marvelling. I also used the examples he gave. I didn't particularly see the palace game as falling into the bracket myself and I don't feel you've given many of those performances this season. Which is why I was asking.

This is fair but as I say I think you had far more of these performances last season and don't remember as many this. Wouldn't you agree?
The way City attack they just overwhelm teams, Southampton hanging on though. Fascinating game this, Southampton getting battered but look very dangerous on the counter. Can’t see them holding out much longer though.

Aye definitely. Hassenhuttl is a quality manager, I think the 9-0 hammering from Leicester sticks in peoples mind and think they’ll be a walk over far from it going off their recent performances.

City at home comes to mind. Not sure what you’re arguing against here - I said we rival them “on our day”, nothing more than that. It didn’t happen very often this season. But still rather incredibly consistent and winning almost every game rather than “on your day” every few games but dropping points left righ and centre when you’re not.
The initial statement I replied to was over the top and I simply disagree with it still. If you wanna jump in to discuss other stuff, go ahead.
They won’t all out attack, they will park the bus and hit us on the counter like they are doing to City here.
Oh we definitely have and are favourites. They just have enough quality that you can't afford to have an off day against them.
That doesn't explain why you took such issue with someone suggesting that prefer city.
The crux of this is I don't feel you've delivered the breathtaking destructive football you did last season in this one. There's certainly been some kind of tapering off and you do tend to look more vulnerable in games.

Yeah they really turned it around from that performance. Funnily enough that result is screwing us over at the moment because its the main reason for Leicester being ahead of us on goal difference.

My point was pretty simple in the sense I don't feel you have been playing that brand of terrifying and marvelling football much at all this season. I'd actually say you looked a much better and entertaining team last season. From a rival point of view this is a good thing as you don't look as untouchable as you did and despite the well deserved title as pointed out close to half of the games you've won have been within a one goal margin.
Quite an entertaining game, this one. It's competitive, although City look quite dangerous down their right side. Think they'll get one quite soon after half time.

Man City and Liverpool are 1 and 1A to me. Whichever order you put them in really depends on the season. I actually find Man City more dangerous offensively as they just dominate and overwhelm teams from midfield onwards. They have the ability to just batter teams and run up the scoreline hence the huge goal difference. A lot of Liverpool's wins this season have been by one goal. This is why I think the bookies still favor Man City slightly for individual games. The 23 point gap between Liverpool and Man City is a reflection of the difference defensively between the two teams where this season, it hasn't even close between the two teams. Man City are going into games needed a minimum of 2-3 goals to come away with 3 points whereas Liverpool know they just need the 1.
