Amad Diallo signs for Manchester United

Apparently he’s not very good centrally, said to be crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle.

Hope he becomes some crazy messi player

Diablo IV?

These are the signings Real Madrid have made in recent times and we’ve inevitably been criticised for not doing what they do at the time.

That's a lot of money for a player that has barely played first team football. The scouts must be very confident, lets hope they turn out to be right.

Please tell me he goes straight into the first team

"Subject to work permit" - now gonna fret about this for a couple of months after being scarred by Ljajic.

Best of luck to him. Huge pressure but looks talented. Be interesting to see where he's currently at and when we even realistically see him making a first team impact. Jumping from youth team to first team level as well as Italian league to premier league. Will need patience.

I'm curious as to why this transfer happened today of all days? Does it not seem a bit odd to announce a signing for January in the last hours of the 'summer' transfer window.

Anyway hope he does well, fee doesnt seem as exorbitant as some of the others being thrown around for wonderkids.

Strange that hes staying at Atalanta till Jan when they are selling him because they don't play wingers, might be more useful to loan him to a club that will play him, though presumably hes going to come straight into the first team squad in January, so might not be worthwhile just for a few months....

Done Diallo then?

Hope he does well. He seems to have a lot of praise for him around the social media circles. I said it in the transfer thread but I hope this is one of those players that in an alternate universe went to a club like Leicester, Spurs, Monaco, Lyon, Dortmund under the radar, did nothing of consequence for the debut season then boom they’re a goal/assist machine and worth £75m minimum, Meanwhile we’re scratching our head wondering why we didn’t get in on that.

If he stinks we can just call him Traore, and then everyone will say well which one.

Saw a comparison to Kulusevski's development on Twitter. Kulusevski started at Atalanta, went on loan to Parma and was signed by Juventus this summer. Diallo was about to be loaned to Parma before we stepped in, let's hope for a similar development.

Let's hope he's good. He has a bit of a thankless task coming here with the way the club have managed this window.

Really excited about this! Screw it let’s be positive.

Happy for the lad and really hope he does well with us when he joins in January. Seems a well rated prospect in Italy.

A little shameful seeing all the replies though full of fans taking out their frustrations over the window on his announcement post instead of wishing him well
