There is something fundamentally wrong with a government who is perfectly happy with and boasts about spending some £400m + of public money on the much vaunted Eat Out To Help (the spread of covid) Out, and yet is finding numerous reasons why they should not spend a tiny fraction on extending the free school meals for children.

Yeah all very true i just don't think many see him as the one making many of those decisions given the last one had to stand down due to interference. The cabinet are just pawns in this government.
He has done well to avoid the cameras at times of negativity and engage with it for the good stuff.
This is true except I think it goes beyond right wing insurgency. The UK is realigning itself along US lines and you'll see the media being all too happy to play the role of an imagined monolithic "left".
I did say some time ago when Rishi was being lauded for spraying money around like there was no tomorrow that it was easy to chuck money around in a national emergency.
He should be judged on his handling of the economy when things stabilise.
Particularly after Brexit has damaged a weakened economy.

Granted it's a long list but Farage is still the biggest bellend in British politics imo.
A focused protection policy sounds ominous coming from him. Half expecting them to suggest some kind of camp system where you could concentrate the vulnerable.
recreating that coalition looks like it will be tough then.
the medium-term impact of brexit was hastening the generational/northern shift to the tories, but i don't see it happening here.
