Same as how the Air Force accepted the order from Cheney on 9/11 to shoot down suspected hijacked planes (although there is some controversy if the orders ever got to any pilots, and it was too late by then). I think if things get stressful enough some of the government and military will follow orders that they want to even if they fall into a gray zone of legality. Which is also concerning on the other hand...

It really speaks volumes about the police that nobody has been arrested for breaking and entering, destruction of property, or anything.

Will anything happen to these people, or the cops who are letting it happen? You can get maced and then thrown in jail for standing in a line peacefully protesting but as soon as you turn up with weapons to a government building, smash some cameras and break some windows you get to walk away.

Pentagon says Pence, with Speaker Pelosi, Leader McConnell, Senator Schumer and Representative Hoyer initiated the call out of the National Guard, not Trump.
 
This isn’t a security breach, the security is in on it. They actively let these terrorists inside the capitol and stood aside.
