It's the new rule. The referee applied it correctly. It's the distance from the ball. No longer can an opposing player kick the ball towards the hand and claim a penalty.
How McGoldrick has scored 6 goals in the Premier League is an absolute mystery (and yes, I know it says something about us that he's scored 2 vs us)
