Players & managers react to the Super League

People didn't come out in favour of Brexit. No was a foregone conclusion back then.
People didn't come out in favour of Trump in 2016. A Hilary Clinton presidency was a foregone conclusion back then.

Yet.
Uh... there was a huge campaign in the UK in favour of Brexit and lots of people supported it, on all levels of society. By the time of the election, it was clear that it would be close. And a large part of the GOP side of the US supported Trump, again on all levels of society. I don't think you could get your take from just reading the NYT and the Guardian...?

In any case, players or coaches could express cautious support (like: 'it sounds interesting, I'd need to know more though, maybe would need some tweaks') without having to fear to be lynched online; but the most I've seen so far is Zidane not really commenting at all.

Good on Rashford for posting the tweet. Hopefully more players will follow.

Both of those instances were not taken seriously until they end, yet they prevailed. On the eve of both elections, Hilary was seen as having a 95% chance of winning. Because the people who were gonna vote didn't feel the need to say anything about it.

Same thing here, lots of people angry and being loud about it, yet, polls are in favour of the Super League according to the spanish outlets.

538 had the chances at something like 70 percent on election day. Which really is not so high if you think about it.

Think 538 had the chances at something like 65-70 percent on election day. Which really is not so high if you think about it.
That's an enormous margin. That's more than 2/3. Especially for voting intent surveys.

It's not a vote margin. It's a probability.

That's what everyone gets wrong

I'm actually not really impressed with Rashford's tweet, I had hoped that he'd write a proper message and directly and clearly oppose this. Just posting a photo of a Busby quote doesn't feel like enough, he hasn't really taken a stance or said how he feels about the issue. Bit too wishy washy

I really hope Ole will oppose this publicly. There's no way that he approves of the idea, he might as well come out and say it

There were ESL wankers on here dancing about getting Amazon to stream these games so at least it's a massive rod shoved up their arses.
The statement implies they're fine with negotiating for it.

It's a margin on the probability...

A probability involves a +/- conclusion.
Throwing a dice with 3 sides, two of which are Hillary and one is Trump is not something I would call a "foregone conclusion"

If everyone had realized this, we'd have been shitting our pants much more, and we would have been much less surprised. I include myself.

He's an employee who also has to look after his job as much as we want them to stand in open rebellion with us. At least he's pretty much cleared his stance which is more than what can be said about most others.

Personally, I'm not happy he hasn't went to Joel's house himself and kicked the shit out of him. Then he should have posted pics on Twitter.

His job isn't in danger, he's one of our best and most valuable players. Others have done it

The bolded is your problem :)
Marca has been Real's mouthpiece for decades. I'd have to check if they printed that the sky is blue.

That's not predicted margin but predicted odds of winning. It's like saying there's a 1/3 chance she would lose.
I'm not talking about the predicted margin(separation in terms of vote count) of the win. I'm talking about the margin between a win/lose prediction. All things equal, with two propositions, it's 50-50. There's a huge margin between 65-35, 70-30 and 50-50.

What's WOW about the statement?

It's air.

One of the worlds largest broadcasters rejecting a new competition isn't a big deal?

Nice to met you mr. President of the Universe Who Only Does Galactic Big Things
