United fans are protesting at Carrington

Graffiti on the back of the toilet door in weatherspoons is more reliable than the fecking Manchester Evening News.

Anything going on at Arsenal ? The Kroenke c*nts have ruined them just as much as the Glazers.

When did I ever mention Saudis? I'm sure we'll get someone other than them and Conor Mcgregor wanting to save the biggest club in the world in front of the whole world. If we protest every day until the end of the season I'm sure better owners will keep low-balling them til they give in when they're losing sponsors and battles with the government. I didn't expect there to be ESL apologists in here claiming it wouldn't ruin football as we know it. Mind-blowing really.

Of course we need reform like 50+1, but fishing for prospective owners like Jim Ratcliffe is also needed. We need to make use of the entire world hating our owners before they forget or stop giving a shit.

I don't think you know how business works. You also seem to be ignoring the fact the Glazers have supposedly rejected offers of 3 billion plus in the past you now think they'll accept a low ball offers, because they've upset the fans, again.

They don't give a shit, about you, me or any of the lads that stormed Carrington, I'm sure this news will be a footnote on their morning memos.

The only way to force change is to petition the government to make changes about club ownership, not make fantastical suggestions about protests, which we know don't work.

Apparently they’ll care more this time than they did when they saddled us with nearly 1bn quid of debt because they nearly destroyed football or something.

As you say they will give zero shits, the sponsors will give zero shits, we know this because we know it happened last time.

And new owners guarantee us absolutely nothing, the the only way to guarantee a better future for football is for the government and FA to bring in big reform.
I fear United fans will instead get themselves wrapped up in a nonsensical protest again for the owners to sell the club.

So seven seas is sure we will get better owners? That’s reassuring
You do realise that the new owners will actually be the highest bidders, not in fact someone that we have fished out and decided upon ourselves.
They obviously need some kind of approval from the PL and government as seen at Newcastle. Difference this time is that the whole world is watching, even the one not usually interested in football.

Interesting stuff on the paininthearsenal.com website.
The millions of pounds Arsenal lost after failed Super League revealed
As per Matt Hughes in the Daily Mail, the English ‘big six’ have already lost £48m, £8m each. These purchases stakes were being used to ‘create the competition’s infrastructure, fund crucial roles such as negotiating with broadcasters and commercial partners, and to pay legal fees'

The writer also goes through a whole list of other potential financial costs to the owners, including compensation to other clubs, lost revenues in sponsorship. It's a huge disaster for these clowns, PR wise and financially.

You do realise that another American franchise bunch bought Liverpool not long back and were allowed to do so without any issue, and they also wanted to be in the super league?

Stop focusing on another nonsensical green and gold-esque protest and focus on a protest for real change throughout football.

Well done lads. Fair play.

I think a lot of people won’t turn up to the protest on Saturday because of the idiots behind it. A lot of local reds don’t want to be associated with that clown Saeed and the likes. The last time about people like them organised a protest at OT about 30 people turned up because people liking tweets doesn’t amount to people showing up, hope there’s a lot more there this time though and people can put there differences aside.

Some people are genuinely delusional when it comes to our ownership.

I can't believe there is someone that thinks the Glazers will eventually sell if a new owner continually low balls them. The club is a juggernaut of income for the Glazers, they're not giving that up for a few piddly billions.

As you've mentioned, the only real options who could afford us would be the Saudis or Chinese states. I for one would rather the devil you know in those cases.

There must be a way to show solidarity with other protesting football fans.
There should be a fans website, we can slag each other off most of the time, but come together when faced with a common threat, a bit like those space alien movies.

This is massively on the news, and has trended on Twitter which is great for getting this to an international audience. That is important for thwarting Glazers strategy to further exploit the global fan base and income.

Similar peaceful protests outside key locations for sponsors or other stakeholders could also be effective. Well done to them

You do realise football has changed a lot since Liverpool were bought, hell, since last week?

If you're trying to dissuade fans from protesting and doing their best to force a change or at least keep the pressure up, then show us what your focus on real change has brought us so far.

There seems to be no clear idea what people want though. Obviously not siphoning off millions in dividends would help, but if you polled the entirety of the Caf on what people wanted from our owners you'd see widely different opinions.

Many would be appeased if we announced Sancho or Haaland.

So now you are talking about reform in your first paragraph there and not just getting rid of our owners, well done you’re on the right track.

I’m not trying to dissuade fans from protesting, I’m trying to persuade fans to protest to the government and FA en masse for reform throughout the game with regards to ownership.

If don’t get reform then new ownership guarantees nothing, in fact if it was Saudi ownership I would say it would be much worse.

As I say we have momentum now but my worry is that United fans instead get themselves wrapped up in another green and gold bullshit protest and even in the best case scenario just end up with a new owner in the same football ownership framework who can run the club however he/she/they see fit.

You sure you are on your own there? They are facing financial losses. They are facing fan opposition which translates into VOTES. Let me write that again for you. V-O-T-E-S. That could mean regulation, 50+1 etc. They have taken a good kicking from the front and rear, financial & PR. What do you think it took to get that xxxt Joel making an "open letter to the fans". They are shitting it. Money money money. They might be happy to escape by the time this is over.

Go on Twitter. What's the most popular hashtag? Ask any Liverpool fan, do they want John Henry? Why do you think the Tories is interested. Because its popular. People are sick of it. Great leadership by Neville and others. If you agree, shout it from the rooftops. #GlazersOut.

What you mean the many that have just found out that our owners have been working on a project for 3 years that would destroy everything that we stand for as a club, as a country. Integrity, competion, fair play. All nearly out the window because these snakes wanted to earn a buck. I think you under estimate the hated towards them now and what they have done.

Ahh so you think that companies and owners give a shit about social media trends. They'll consult experts on these sorts of things and will know full well this will blow over (in a virtual sense) very quickly.

People have been shouting Glazers Out for best part of 20 years, but this time it'll be different

Fair play to the chaps doing the protest. It got media attention. Hopefully the movement can grow. The real shame is our owners don't come to games to know there is protests but you know for a fact they will hear that protesters were affecting their "assets" (players)

But no, it was only a bluff to negotiate with uefa

So who do we want owning the club and how? Answer with some realistic ideas please. Fans don't have 4B to spare or whatever its going to take to buy the club.

I don't know why people breathe, they'll all die in the end.

I don't know why people want us to win, we'll end up losing eventually.

This is what your arguments sound like. And sometimes it's worth fighting for something even if you don't succeed.

Ah. Well my answer to "... they're not giving that up (for X, Y Z)" is...
That is defeatist. They might be forced to give it up. We don't want the Saudis either, but decent regulation will take care of that.
Be positive. Get this lot out. Get the other foreign owners out of the other clubs. Change the way things are done. Look at the German model. The Glazers have been leeches on the back of the club since their hostile takeover. They don't give a shit about fans ... never speak to us up to this disaster. They are bad for the game and bad for the club.

Regulate
#GlazersOut

I certainly do not underestimate the hatred towards them. What I doubt is how much they care. They simply don't.

Create as many hashtags and protests as we want, it'll make no difference to the Glazers. Now if we had a whip round and got them the 5/6 billion they want we might have a chance of getting rid, until then you'd be better off trying to tie fog.

Lads are doing their bit, fair play to them. Small protests like this to gain the momentum and ramp up the pressure.

On the other side you have Fredo and Co who think this will somehow disrupt the players as if 15 men at Carrington will disrupt their rhythm and they won't be ready for Leeds or posters who are making fun of that while sitting behind their monitor.

Social media trends, and massive opposition across the game has wrecked their shitshow. They have lost big money, credibility, etc. Why do you think Joel is writing to you? What did you make of his letter, anyway?

Well you waste your time, energy and mental health on a fruitless campaign, but there's nothing wrong with questioning the effectiveness of these protests, when history shows they are rarel, if ever successful.
