Are you claiming City are playing their B team?

Edit: And if they were(they're not), then shouldn't the be performing better as those players have something to play for?
City's 11 against Newcastle the other night was hardly the squad they're playing tonight, or 99% of this season, was it?

I'm making the point that these games wouldn't be petering out if we had a squad of players rather than 3 or 4 faces (all of which already written off by the Cafe) surrounded by 7-8 first team players who clearly don't want to get injured before a final.

At least he would have been cheaper and a younger version.
With the same error rate? No thanks. He’s fine at Leicester and will always be that type who looks great at lower stature clubs. Good luck to him

We wouldn't be in the Europa final if we hadn't humiliated ourselves in the CL group stage now would we?
Hold tight!

It’s great to have opinions, it’s what this shit is all about, I get it. When I was a yoot I was calling for Fergie to be sacked, I was young, reactionary, without patience and as history has taught, I was wrong.

I’m not saying Ole is the world’s greatest manager, far from it but to say we’re poorly coached is pretty rich.

Clean up the dead jelly fish from your keyboards lads because if your mom comes in with the UV light she’ll think Jackson Pollock had popped round for tea rather than the fact you’d just been playing FM.

Him and Ndidi would be ahead of McFred. He would be an upgrade, but I think we can and should do better than him in the transfer market.

End of season type of performance. I wish the team picked out Cavani's runs more.

Defence is a problem without Maguire.

even with Baresi there for tuanzebe, wouldn't prevent their goal.

More focus needs to be put on the players' attitudes in this match than their abilities. For so much of the match, they looked very comfortable, yet despite the comfort, they would attempt difficult or heroic actions so casually that you wouldn't be surprised by the poor execution in the end. Then there was the lack of willingness to engage, defensively, from certain players, like Luke Shaw. This became even more apparent when McTominay came off and Pogba moved to the midfield, which is when we basically lost control of the match.

If anything, when you see a team that can destroy teams 9-0, 6-2, 4-0, etc., and then lose 3 of the last 5 matches, you have to question their mentality and whether they're willing to give their all. Even Ole referred to their attitudes in his post-match comments:

Nothing at all to be cheerful about with such an end to the league season.
The Roma away game was poor, ditto for every game since.
Not even looking forward to the Europa league final any more, I just need a vacation.
Too many bottlers in this team, I am pleasantly surprised that Ole dragged this bunch into the top 4 (given my assessment before a ball was kicked that we would struggle to get CL football but scrape it, basically like last season).
There is so much work to do to get our playing squad right and fit to be a challenger for top honours.

Seems like a massive overreaction in this thread. League season is over, this just had the feel of a dead rubber. On another day that could’ve been 4-0. Greenwood finishes off that sitter just before they score, and it’s a comfortable win.

Chin up people, we’ve got a European final in a week‘s time.

Absolutely loved the Cavani goal. We never pushed one after that and strolled to another draw.

Hope we're more bloody up for the EL final.

Bruno with the diplomatic answer  if the referee says I touched it, then i touched it

I’m already well over this. 2nd half performance was poor but the whole game felt like a team who knew the game didn’t mean anything. Wolves will be the same. The boys are fully focused on the final. It’s all that matters now

Hilarious that people are writing off our season based on a few results that came after we secured top 4 and a Europa League final.

We have room to improve for sure but we’ve improved on last seasons showing and are heading in the right direction.

The thing that fecks me off about this group is how when it clicks and we're in the groove we look deadly, but far too often you get performances like today where technically we look nowhere near good enough. Shamefully sloppy and half arsed.

In truth this game means very little, but its still been a pattern we've seen far too often this season.

That midfield against Fulham someone needs to get fired.. Terrible performance.

It was like 3 blokes on camera and for all we know they were having a choreographed piss.

Unless your post is a WUM. Which would make more sense.
Nah, it definitely wasn't. There was a shot from behind Areola's arse for a goal-kick at about 88 minutes which showed a good number of people leaving (relative to the number of people there). Pretty fecking shitty, to be honest.

With Maguire's injury fresh in everyone's minds, I'd believe Ole told them to go out and win it but play within themselves, don't get injured. This was a tune-up match. First half was entertaining, second a bore. I still think we will beat Villarreal.

Hardly their second squad . . And then they go and lose too. I agree with you overall point though that our squad needs improvement.

Lazy and complacent sums it up for me. Midfield of McFred is not at the level we need, I would be shocked if we don't add real quality there. By the way the Leicester result is going, second is confirmed, these guys are thinking of the final. This game was meaningless in reality. I don't buy the build up of confidence some suggest. Positive, great to see Amad get a run.

DAMMIT.
Dreadful for fantasy footy, and I saw it on here before seeing it go in.

No it hasn’t, twats on here think they know it all. We’re so poorly coached we’re in the Europa final and potentially finishing 2nd in one of the toughest leagues in the world.

You think you know it all.
Since when is reaching the Europa League final a marker of success? Look at the price and quality of our squad relative to the rest of the competition. The Europa League is so far off the standard we're aspiring to it's useless to glean anything from. Domestic competitions and CL is the only useful measure from which to guage progress. We've done pretty well in the league this year so there's a platform there moving forward.

I don't know if AWB should take all the blame, for every goal we've conceded like this the entire defence shifts to the left side, leaving us brutally exposed.
Luke Shaw was partly to blame though. If he is closing down the player who is so central and leaving the player he should marking instead, he should damn well ensure that he wins the ball. He needlessly took a risk to win the ball quickly.

I never said it was a marker for success, where did I say that? and yes, the Europa league is far off the standard we aspire to but that’s not a show of poor coaching, far from it, we can all argue the coaching could be better if we don’t reach the CL final or finish first in the Prem but a bunch of fecking no marks on a forum stating we’re poorly coached is a joke, get a fecking grip.

He is very casual
Though

Oh yeah, not absolving him entirely. Usually it looks like the entire defence screws up.

That's what I mean, it starts with some kind of minimal error, everyone overreacts and then the entire defence turns into a shit show with some opposition player free at the back post.

Err.. you did? You said we're in the final of the EL as if that's an indication that we're well coached/managed. It's not.

We need a Keane like figure who hates to loose and accepts nothing less than our absolute best. Bruno has a bit of that but it's not enough
