after all those years of absence, Benzema has been quite disappointment so far. needs to step up in second half.

 get in hungary

Pogba is a different player when asked to counter compared to when his team is asked to dominate.
Yeah, and in my opinion we should have started building a dominant midfield ages ago, but that’s another discussion. Just pointing out whait suits him and what doesn’t. He was glorious vs Germany.

What a moment and half for the Hungarian football. Football with fans back in the stadium is just magical.

Hungary have proved that they are not just mere pushovers in this highly competitive group. They were excellent against Portugal aswell, prior to their collapse after conceding the first goal. Playing proper positive football.

Varane with a massive fault.

He pressed high up because he's a front-foot defender. At that point, he has to win it because he's left bags of space in behind. Pavard, who is on a yellow card can't foul him and hasn't got the pace to get back. I'd say both at fault.

The Hungary fans have created a great atmosphere in both of their games so far. Fun watching them celebrate that goal. Nice to see stadiums full again.

Let’s be honest France have underwhelmed us so far in the 2nd half against Germany they played like Big sams Bolton and today meh again.

The only team I've been impressed with so far is Italy.

That being said, they often find a way to win games, and no doubt they'll cause Hungary a lot of problems in the second half.

France will win this still. Orban’s boys will run out of steam towards the end like they did against Portugal.

Copy cat game today compared to vs Portugal. Hungary playing the same strategy, France struggling to be effective just like we were during the 1st half.

This is gonna be an interesting 2nd half.

France should still win but you have to applaud the effort from Hungary here. Would be massive if they hang on and then Germany win.

Varane didn't read that situation right and he got exposed and punished, along side Pavard. There are times to engage and there are times to back off. When you're that far from goal and with acres of space behind you and there are individual battles on your entire side of the pitch, you have to read that right.

France wouldn't be in this mess if Mbappé and Benzema were not as shite as they have been.

Speaking of Benzema, I just don't rate him. He has too often been for France the kind of letdown that Gonzalo Higuain was for Argentina when it mattered the most over the years.

Well the atmosphere here is electric.

We won this half. No matter how many snails and baguettes they eat now, they won't take it away from us.

Benzema missed a good chance, but on the half volley after really good movement. Great backheel layoff by Mbappe.

Benzema has been good this match and been involved. Mbappe missed one really good header and a second half chance.

With Pavard on a yellow and the match being intense and tackles/challenge happening every minute, Pogba has to be mindful of not drifting too far up field and same with Kante because Pavard can't be left isolated.

That's true, hence why I said it was his fault too. However, the moment he does engage, he needs to make sure he wins it or does to stop the Hungary player from playing a comfortable pass.

Probably been said a lot throughout the tournament but the BBC’s commentary is so weak compared to ITV. Is the Robot wars guy + Jermaine Jenas really the best they have to offer?

can't say right now that I'm disappointed that Griezmann didn't join us

Totally...and they were both wrongsided. Varane knew if he took down the Hungarian player, he'd be sent off. Just an odd play when you see how much space there was once that ball was even played across the pitch before the defending was beaten.

Its France, not San Marino.

If it was a late goal I could see Hungary steal this one but 45m against this France side chasing a result, its going to be a nightmare.

Either way, good luck. I hope Hungary wins

Honestly his situation reminds me of Hazard, Alexis Sanchez etc. All these guys gave their best years to their previous clubs.

You have to buy them just before they're hitting their peak years. Age 22-25 sounds good.
