Tactically, Portugal have shat the bed. Weren't prepared for the wing backs and a back three, took off width for tenacity with the Sanches sub, then took off two of the top three goal threats in Bruno and Jota so they could defend with a back 5 when 2-4 down.

Hardly shocking. Most of Portugal’s first eleven wouldn’t even make Germany’s squad. He certainly did his best today with the little service he got at 36 years old.

Great game and a deserved victory for Germany. Rarely do you see such an obvious tactical mistake throughout an entire match. Portugal needs to learn from this and have a better midfield balance vs France.
