Can the injury room to his position list?

Get pic by the way.

For his own sake, I would love to see him regain some sort of fitness and get back to playing football at a first team level, either with United else where. I’m a bit uncomfortable with how he’s become a punchline amongst United fans and the wider footballing community, can’t be nice for him.

Hope he returns to full fitness.

easily superior to bailly, would be a great player to have available.

Has there even been a footballer at a top club such as United who has had so many injuries over so long a period of time?

There was a match in which he played right-back in his first season, away at Bolton, I believe.

He was a force of nature in that match. I thought for sure we were witnessing a legend and future United and England captain.

It's so sad what happened to him.

Honestly believe his ceiling was Maguire level, maybe even higher? Should have been a top class player. Such a shame. Just collecting a pay cheque & awaiting retirement at this point. Might be able to snag a pay as you play deal but I’m not sure.

Does he actually exist... beginning to think he was jus a figment of my imagination

I look forward to not seeing him perform this year, like normal.
How is he still at the club, mind boggling.

Honestly, how is he still at the club? And why did we extend his contract?

Go on loan at least, FFS. Is he just happy to collect a paycheck and not actually play for the rest of his career?

Did he actually play last season? Genuinely can't remember

Played and scored in the league cup (could be FA cup) vs Tranmere... or was that the season prior?

EDIT: Had to google... it was the FA cup 19/20. He actually played 8 games if wikipedia is correct

Is it really just injuries he is suffering with, or is there more to it then that?

He doesn't care about playing football obviously or at least it's not a priority in his life. He must settled where he is, in his life, no need for much change

Hopefully the imminent signing of Varane acts as a springboard for Jones to get to his best. Varane is basically the Telles to Jones' Shaw

The only CB we have currently that's an ex Premier League champion. His partnership with Mike Smalling is a legendary story that will be told for generations to come.

Contract until 2023...my God! Has he played up to 10 games within that period?

Unbelievable

Been saying it for a while now, I've got a feeling something is going to come out about Phil this season. He is either running his contract down and refusing to budge or it could be something more serious like that ex City player Johnson.

I don't think the club even want him back training, what's the point.

Not one to speculate on players personal lives, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was a mental issue there. Or a personal thing we don't know about. His body shouldn't be this broken down at his age.

Players only miss an entire season if they fracture a large bone (oi oi) or something like that. Nobody even knows what Jones' injury is that's kept him out nearly 2 years.

Just mentioned this in my post above, I've been saying this to my mates for ages. He didn't have a major injury and he's not played since Sheffield United away two years ago.

He's either got some serious issues of he's refusing to leave the club and his contract. If that's the case they may very well have told him to stay away for the remainder of his contract.
