Few players have signed dumber contracts. He had all of the power when he signed it. Why did he think a contract with Levy that expires as he hits 30 was a good idea
Most Players need their biggest move at 27-28. They rarely get more valuable beyond that, and clubs will gamble on a fee knowing they can sell if it doesn’t work out.
He may run down his contract, but then only gives himself 4 years to win trophies. Assuming his body and form holds up.
It was such a stupid move. He should have moved, or signed a 4 year deal. I can’t imagine he’d have got that much more money for making it a 6 year. I can’t see that Levy had any lever to pull on that made him sign that contract.
