Paul Pogba / turned down United offer of 300k as “nothing”

The distrust regarding Pogba is more to do with Raiola and why Pogba would want to associate himself with such a person.

Here’s the deal guys, for Pogba it is always family first. Football second. Anything that can give them a better life he will do. If that means hiring a bulldog of an agent to get him the most money, so be it. His parents were impoverished immigrants in France and they had to fight a lot to be where they are. So I don’t blame Pogba for always looking family first.

Obviously he feels for the club otherwise he wouldn’t have wanted to return in the first place. He pushed Raiola back hard after that disastrous article right before a crucial CL clash. He remained silent thereafter for the most part.

This is how I see it. It’s all strictly business when it comes to Pogba-Raiola. Even if it means rubbing the fans the wrong way. His teammates love him and the manager reiterated over and over how professional he’s been. So cut the guy some slack. He’s not as bad as some make him out to be.

Alex Ferguson would not have brought him back to UTD. And neither would I. Luxury player who thinks he’s better than he is. Winning the league in Italy is not winning the premier league - nowhere near. I’m with Fergie on this - get him out the door. Bring in players who want to be here. Also forget the league next season - city plus Kane and Grealish - that’s the league sorted then!!

Fergie wanted to keep him the first time. How do you know he wouldn't have wanted to buy him back?

Nothing is more annoying than when ‘fans’ say “SAF was right to get rid of him!”

You know nothing, clearly…media sheep.

I see drunk posting is still in style

Have you even bothered to see the threads about him going, and compare that to the ones that imply he will be staying or say it out right. I know which come across as more reliable.
But each to his own. I'm confident his staying.
Players leaving usually aren't part of the promotional kit videos for the upcoming season as well.
Well it doesn't convince me. The only info I believe is when Raiola stated Pogba wants to leave at the end of the season. I am also sure we offered him a contract extension he didn't sign until now.

Everything else is speculation, or club leaking news which they want to become public.

It's not about convincing, it's about the fact that all signs point to him staying.

I agree, him saying that was a shitty thing to do. Many players have been unhappy and wanted to move on, and have engaged behind the scenes with the club to let them know the players intention.
He has a right to feel unhappy and want a change or move to another club, but to do it so publicly is not the best way to do it. Yet in saying that, there is no need to drag the player and hurl insults that has been seen in this thread. Not you specifically, but in general.

Think that's been my main thing in this thread. I'm not a Pogba "defender", but simply calling out the disgraceful insults and comments made that are just unnecessary. Then again, I fully realize it's a pointless exercise, but I'd rather have some push back than see page after page or ignorant and hateful posts I suppose.
There are many though that want him gone, and have been able to say so without needing to resort to insults and slurs.

What do you mean all signs point to him staying? Him pictured in United shirt and somebody tweeting about his family being happy in England? I guess they could be equally happy in Paris.

Is there really so many insulting posts towards Pogba here? I didn't see many, certainly no more than towards our other players like Fred, McTominay (even in this thread there's one guy who mocks them constantly), Rashford, James, Maguire and Lindelof.

The way he and his agent handled that situation (when Raiola said Pogba wants out), Pogba deserves every criticism (not insult) so I have zero sympathy for Paul. It's perfectly fine if he wants to leave, but this drama is making the club look weak which I don't like. I hope we don't move the world just to make Pogba happy and give him a pay rise he hardly deserves, only to see the same situation in a couple of seasons.

So many threads could do with a list of information that you have to read before being allowed to post in it. I don’t know how many times I’ve read people claiming Fergie was right to get rid of Pogba. The only way that view makes sense is if the poster was too young to remember it (which is kind of scary in itself).

Is he the new Rafael Van Der Vart? Plays 60 min and you take him off if he’s not in form? It”s a legitimate question.

Pogba in a high tempo game where he doesn't get time on the ball and has a lot of defending to do has consistently underperformed. He's not a winger or a 10 either. He should be used against low blocks as a CM and from the bench in other cases. He'll never accept that role in the squad or accept wages that are reflective of that.

He'd be magnificent in L1 (and then so-so in the CL)

He's past his best and injury prone.

I'd offer him 200k/week, or 300k/week if he ditches Raiola.

Right? It's stunning, and I can only put it down to wilful ignorance, a choice not to see what's right in front of them.
Looks like you've poked the bear...

What is their point of contention? A poster brings up the racism angle and then predictably the naysayers come out. The nerve of you! Pulling the race card! Oversensitive Snowflake, etc.....

I mean, you're stating the obvious. If you go on their social media accounts things are even more overt, and even then you'll still have people pretending it's not a thing because instead of accepting this and maybe moving on, they'd rather argue against it. Can't possibly be racism involved... Noooooo....

I guess psg don't have the money or are happy to wait for a free transfer. Probably helps us short term but hurts us next summer unless an academy player really turns up. Will need a striker and creative midfielder and either of them are never usually cheap.

Get rid of him - £90m for what? He's been a huge disappointment for UTD. He was labelled the second coming of christ but in reality he's been average. We fall in love with his dribbles and 50yd passes but have a look how many times he loses possesion. Fred loses the ball but he battles to win it back - Pog just looks around for someone to chase the ball. He's been a circus from the moment he walked into OT. Isnt £250k per week enough anymore? Estimated net worth$125million by the way - poor fecker......... No wonder he's turning down £1million a month. Heart bleeds etc etc

Confident of keeping Pogba aka Pogba refuses to move until his contract has run out

PSG are loaded. It’s a joke saying they don’t have the money to sign Pogba. If they don’t pay up it’s solely because they don’t want to.

Yep - it'd be interesting to see if we will end up giving him a big fat contract, history shows the possibility of this happening is very high.

If that happens, we have clearly not learnt our lesson and our recent turnaround with transfer dealings would be undone by this.

I should have added at the end : it’s something because they don’t want to or the player has told them to hold off and Pogba and mino can pocket the extra cash next summer. If he sits out his deal you’ll still have fans defending him till his last day. Pogblinkers

You can’t say that without knowing Ole’s specific plan for the squad and our approach moving forward.

Ole likes Pogba and appreciates the ability he brings to the team, he knows we have nobody near his level in midfield, McFred and Matic are levels below, its a chasm.

To replace and improve on Pogba in that sense is more expensive and very unlikely to happen, name a player with more ability that we can sign for less than another £90 million (plus wages)?

If I’m in Ole’s shoes, building a team and trying to take us to the next level, I would do everything I can to keep Pogba (a player when in form is still arguably our best or certainly most talented player) and improve the DM position to play alongside him.

This is what should have been done instead of the half arsed approach we took of signing Matic who was past it.

Whatever it may be Pogba hold all the cards here, the longer he waits the better offer will arrive.

Did you not watch our games last season that Ole prefers McFred over Pogba in CM? Or are you one of those that thinks buying a DM will magically resolve his deficiencies and balance with Pogba and Bruno in the team?

Yes I’m one of the millions including the entire footballing world that doesn’t subscribe to the nonsense peddled here by armchair pundits that Paul Pogba is a substandard footballer.

Because it’s nonsense.

When fit he played, when he played he played well. Your reimagining last season pal, forgetting he was injured for large parts.

We don’t have any DM’s to partner him with other then Matic, anybody who knows anything about football knows you need defensively sound partners in midfield to cover for Pogba and (and here’s the kicker) to get the most from him.

Im sure some here are reinventing the story to make it more palatable when we lose one of our best players. Tiring.

Edit The club obviously don’t subscribe to this nonsense view that he’s rubbish either, or they wouldn’t be trying everything to keep him.
They clearly see the error in their own ways in how we setup this midfield.

Who are the pundits that think Pogba is a substandard footballer except Souness? You clearly have subscribed to quite a few of them by the sounds of it.

I'd be more concerned with those actually paid attention regardless of good or bad their opinions are rather than forming one their own.

Honesty, Fergie never wanted him gone but you do. Fergie was pissed off that he went for free, and I'm not so sure he wouldn't have brought him back. Don't assume something you don't know to suit your agenda.

Not really. Ole needed McFred to cover for the defensive weakness of Lindelof and played two CDMs. Pogba isn't as good defensively. Doesn't mean Ole prefers them as a CM (but more CDMs).

I said Armchair Pundits, the many lurking this forum talking nonsense about how it’s impossible to get a performance out of Pogba and that ‘he’s a virus’ and they are ‘sick of the circus.’

It’s pathetic. People are entitled to their opinion on him as a person but preaching that he’s rubbish on the pitch for us is nonsense.

Don't bother arguing with Pogba fanboys, they'll be supporting another club when he leaves.

Can't believe how much leeway he gets when his entourage disrespects the club multiple times.

What qualifications do you hold that calls other posters being 'armchair pundits'?

You've responded to my post that hasn't mentioned Pogba is 'rubbish'

I see yet another overreaction / defensive post when it comes to people talking about Pogba, I think we should just leave it here.

Did you completely miss the point of that post?

Poor comparison. Stam was vital for us as without him we were fecked. Compare this Pogba to RVN. Scoring lot of goals, world class striker, but we could still perform without him in 05/06 season, almost like Pogba in 20/21.
