I truly don't see how that can be ignored. In many way it was part of what started this all years ago. Dyed his hair blue for Man City was a real talking point? That shit was the stupidest narrative I have ever seen.

All I Know is if you have a footballer with lifestyle "problems" I'd much rather it be Pogbas dancing and haircuts than boozing or other real distractions.

Wow really? I seem to remember the team doing quite well in progressing before he came back into the team. Does anyone else remember Pogba putting the team on his shoulders to take them into the final?
The club might want to know but Pogba holds all the cards right now. He is well within his rights to wait the last year out and go where he wants. I think the most likely scenario is that he stays for the season and then goes, regardless of the success of the team. Get the feeling he wants to try something new - possibly in Spain.
The specific context of the criticism was that he dyed his hair blue before the Manchester derby, where City may have won the league.
But overall I agree that he gets way too much criticism for non-footballing matters. I'm in the "I hope he stays" camp, and quite like his personality. He's good for the game.

I agree, but with that context it is not hard to see why it would have rubbed many United fans the wrong way, especially those who don't follow France. With his agent mouthing off around the same time too, people were (and apparently still are) sensitive when it comes to him.

Agreed! A new contract would be the cherry on top of a nice transfer window so far. But I'd take him staying because we have an exciting squad and first 11 taking shape.

We've already played with Pogba as a 6 and Bruno as a 10, to good effect.
Both of them as 8's will be an improvement on that.
Him contemplating staying is a positive sign which I’m happy to see at this stage. We’re lucky he’s not completely closed the door shut. Pogba has zero obligation to do anything to anyone’s liking other than his own best interest — I’m glad United is still in consideration for him in that case.
I would rather he’s completely closing the door shut now to allow us to sell him than be in the middle. My point is sell or sign a new contract. These should be the choices not something in the middle where we will lose him for free without having the money to replace him.
Ill guarantee it that if the club comes to him with an offer making him the clubs best paid player he signs a new deal.

Next summer is the time for him to walk for a last challenge and pick up some more ( almost guaranteed) trophies. I'd be shocked if he resigns

I think he’ll stay this season— which at the very least means we have another season to find a replacement. We’re already lacking quality in midfield. This season, we should be looking for a midfielder to replace all of those Fred/McTominay minutes.

Anyone sense some dejavu here? It seems like what has happened before might happen again. Pogba is going to pretend to consider the contract offer while quietly signing with some other club for free next year and a bumper sign on fee. Then he will announce it later on and the club is screwed out of a transfer fee. Again.

i couldn't believe he got booed in the stadium at the end of 18/19, and i can't imagine it happening to any other midfielder who had just delivered a 26 G+A season and had not said a single word about wanting out. even underperforming players don't get booed usually, not like arsenal.

Imo he simply chose the wrong moment. We lost against a relegated Cardiff ffs. Both him and us were playing pretty badly by then, we lost a number of matches and out of top 4. The fans were of course angry.

Do you love your employers? Asking players to love your club is a fools errand. Players will do what is in their best interest as do clubs.
Most football fans seem to be stuck in the 90s and earlier, when it comes to things like these.
