I mean, I understand they can no longer attract the absolute elite level players. Nevertheless, I still feel they have bought really poorly in recent years, considering how much they've spent. They went and bought Odegaard who really doesn't add anything imo. I honestly think giving Willock a chance would have been worth a shot. I also don't think White will come good, given his massive defensive deficiencies.
I agree that the squad is midtable. I've seen some suggest that with a new manager and some decent signings, they would be a good side again. I couldn't disagree more tbh. I feel they're absolutely miles off being a semi-good side again. People go on about Saka and Tierney being some sort of worldies - the truth is that they're good players, and nothing more.
