Romelu Lukaku | Chelsea

I had 4 vlc's open. I have 2 1440p screens so i can easily watch them. And yeah he was pretty fecking bad. I think you made a big mistake by signing him because you look like playing with 10 men vs good teams.

You're watching 4 matches at once? Blimey!

You obviously hate the guy and that's fine but don't pretend it's anything other than that.

Best thing for Chelsea to do is to play him against the lesser lights and drop him against the top sides (go with Havertz as a false 9 or something).

Unfortunately, Lukaku is under the misguided impression that he isn't a donkey so will probably throw his toys out of the stable if Tuchel only feeds him the cannon fodder of the league.

It's not his fault that Chelsea paid $100M for him

Lukaku isn't faultless but again, for other teams the buck stops with the manager for not setting up his team properly. On here, Chelsea are a Lukaku away from 2 wins against City and Juventus...

In ordinary circumstances I wouldn't rag on a player, but this is the same Lukaku with a massive ego who tells us he should be mentioned in the same breath as Benzema, Suarez, Lewandoski etc. But yet again proves himself a flat track bully. And the Chelsea fans crowing in here before he kicked a ball for them, claiming Utd fans are only saying that because they're bitter.

Chelsea with Havertz/Werner up top against top teams and Lukaku for the rest. Actually think that’d be a great tactic.

Ha... So far his record does shout flat track bully (not that this is necessarily as bad as some on here make it out to be!!)

If Giflord was getting married at the same time as Lukaku was playing, he'd be sneaking a screen into the service in the hope he could see Rom miss a chance.

Thought he did well on the turn to gain a half yard on the defender... Could have found the net with a bit more luck.

Werner wouldn't have been in that position to start.

My Chelsea mates are already turning on him…. Through no fault of his own tbf… it’s all the hipster journalists that suddenly decided he was elite level because he did well in an Inter side that won the league with Ashley Young & Alexis Sanchez.

He wasn’t elite there just as he wasn’t realy a flop here. He gets judged in extremes for some reason when he’s always basically been the same very good- but not exceptional-Lukaku

Guy has some issues playing Juventus, one goal, which i believe was a penalty, in 6(?) games against them.
Any assists?

He's changed you kept saying. He's changed
Don''t worry i have some special gifs for you later.

Did you see that last minute Ronaldo winner in the champions league? Unbelievable!
No mate I was making a gif of Lukaku missing a chance.
...

Classic Lukaku in a big game performance then ?

He was OK. Not great, not terrible. Expect more from him of course, but you'd think he missed 4 pens and scored 3 own goals the way some go on about him :D

Are we really doing this? Obviously he's not going to find it as easy as in Italy where he could bang goals past pretty shite teams quite regularly, but does that mean he's not improved significantly since he left us?

For me he's a great striker, he knows he belongs at the top level now, and yes it's harder to keep that confidence when playing good defences every week but ultimately Chelsea not scoring goals is down to Tuchel, not Lukaku. If you play 5 defenders and 3 DMs against City then your 2 forwards have to have some game if they're to lay a glove on them. The guy was too defensive for PSG and I think eventually he'll have the same problems at Chelsea too.

I've always wondered what kind of set you have. Didn't imagine I would read it in a Lukaku thread

IPTV? Satelitte? VPN? You subscribed to all the channels?

But they totally dominated the ball against Juve.

Spot on

He’s still going to bang goals against the shite teams in the PL, just as he did before.

The big difference is that Conte built a team and a system around Lukaku and getting the most out of him, Chelsea on the other hand is viewing him as a missing piece that should - on paper, provide them with more of a consistent goal threat and return over the course of the season. But they aren’t going to change their system around just to get the most out of Lukaku and he’ll certainly have to do a lot more on his own.

Only the missed chance is bad, the first 2 situations are pretty routine with defender contesting (granted, not judging the flight path of the ball correctly wasnt great, but it's Lukaku), 3rd one the pass was never really on so he can either cut back or switch the play to the other wing, and he chose the latter (the cross was pretty hospital).

It's just the same old Lukaku, intention is largely correct but execution is found wanting due to his technical deficiencies.

But they totally dominated the ball against Juve.
Yes, but in a bad way. Only after the 80th minute we started to play better. Offensively we were not in the game until then.

Not trying to be a prick, but Lukaku is going to be muck in these games. You'd do better to get used to it. Can still bring a lot of value to a team like Chelsea who give up so few changes the other end

He has to get that header on target but Lukaku was never that great in the air.
I thought he improved to the point he was one of the best players with his back to goal in the world? How he was this beast at bullying defenders?
I’ve yet to see it.
