Italian Serie A - 2021-2022

Is Belotti injured? Really fallen off the radar last two years at club level.

Example of player showing a bit too much loyalty I think.

If Allegri can integrate Arthur, Kulusevski, Morata and Dybala back into the team after the international break, they should be able to kick on.

Think likes of Inter and Napoli have started too well for Juventus to win the league but they'll be top 4 for sure.

Good win to dig out today without most of their forwards available.

Huge 2nd half by our croatian duo Brozovic and Perisic.

Tough comeback, Sassuolo was playing better than us. three golden points

It was a hard game against our biggest rival. Glad we did beat them in their home.

We need our strikers back as soon as we can.

We are resembling a cohesive team again (albeit a mediocre one, admittedly), which is immense progress. This season success will depend on Allegri morphing blatant donkeys like Rabiot, Bentancur or Bernardeschi and loose cannons like Kean, Kulusevski or McKennie into reliable contributors… the more, the better.

Are Juventus actually better without Ronaldo?
Juventus with a better Chiesa (totally integrated and ready), and with Locatelli in the midfield, managed by Allegri is better than Juventus with no competitive midfield coached by Pirlo and basically counting on Dybala (when he is available) or Ronaldo to win the games on his own.

Allegri is the difference, he is capable of setting up a counter-attacking team to suck up the pressure and try to get a win (not always successful so far, but you can see the plan) which he did vs Napoli, Milan, and Chelsea.

And he is also capable of making the team attack and beat the lesser teams, at least those who let you play. We are yet to see him face a deep-sitting block.

Napoli v Fiorentina is a good game. Osimhen looks great, almost scored a bicycle kick.

Important and super deserved win for us against Atalanta. 19 points out of 21 and we've already faced Juve, Atalanta and Lazio..

This season we have an unique opportunity to try to go for Scudetto. Inter does not look as good as last season and still rely on a 35 y.o. striker, Juventus are under construction and Napoli will be the most hitted european club from the AFCON given that some of their best players (Osimhen, Anguissa, Koulibaly + Ounas and Ghoulam) won't be available for over a month..

Still remember four years ago how much Liverpool struggled without Salah and Manè:

AFCON might be a factor this season..

For over a month, that is if they all reach the semis.

Just saw Candreva's goal to put Sampdoria 3-2 up. Holy feck what a banger!

Bepi , What are you on about, I thought those are the future.

The devil’s in the detail… and in how distant this future is. A few weeks (if really few, then ok!), a few months (mmmh… no good), a few years (hell, no!). On a serious note, I think they would try and make some changes in January, in case. And I forgot a number of missing in action, notably Arthur, Ramsey and that Kaio Jorge kid!

There is no a few in the system of the team. Historically speaking, this is how Juve play. Counterattack and defence. What else are you trying to get from them.

It is on another level now. Literally the lowest of the league. Juventus is 20th out of 20 when it comes to pressure in the opposing half.

The season is still young. Yes, Juve do need some job to sort out but let’s give the young players a chance. Juve need a goalkeeper and that is for sure. These days our goalkeeper flies just to guess where the ball is before the ball comes to him.

Lazio look quite a solid team. Only watched them against Roma and now Inter, but they feel completely different from the usual Sarri team. More focused on being balanced and solid rather than just a possession obsessed team.

Yeah, I was doubtful about their wingers but it's nice to see Felipe Anderson back to his level.

Mourinho 2021 is the football equivalent of George Clooney 2021, a semi-retired wonder enjoying life in Italy.

The ref and VAR in milan-verona need to be stopped for a while. Ridiculous penalties. The one for Verona was actually a foul by the striker

You can't fault Mourinho for fielding his usual, basic 4-2-3-1 with each player clearly filling (and fitting) his given hole.

Apart of defence, which is something they do not really pursue anymore, a

is as good as anyone in Serie A, this year. Most of all, none of them has a passenger attitude, which makes their play enthralling.

Napoli win and Osimhen scores again. 8 from 8 now for Napoli

Osimhen is a fantastic player, hopefully for Serie A Napoli can keep him for many years like they did for Koulibaly.

Allegri vs Mourinho tonight.. On paper it might be an horrible game to watch given their managers' playstyle but this season Roma have been fun to watch most of time..
