Which is why people like Mane got annoyed with him. He does have a bit of a ‘headless chicken’ element to his game and when he’s not firing on all cylinders he can look terrible. Having said that, you just can’t argue with the quality of his recent goals and all round play. Simply world class.
And rightly so. Personally I prefer Mané over Salah as well as he has everything in his locker - defensively and offensively, albeit not as ‚greedy‘ as Salah when it comes to scoring goals. I think those two are in a very similar situation to Robben and Ribéry some years ago. They also couldn’t stand each other for a long time and Ribéry got quite frustrated at Robben for his egotistical way of playing. After a couple of years they got used to it and realised they have to put their egos aside to be successful. I’m seeing signs of that with Mané and Salah this season but it’s still early days.
Ironically passing is probably the best part of his game.
I would agree that the signs are pointing that way. That’s an interesting comparison as well, re Robben and Ribery.
Mané is the greediest cnut going. He's just not as good as Salah.

It might be. Or it might be his goalscoring. Or it might be his pace. Or his indomitable will to win. There is no ONE 'best' part to him. But if you are really looking to pick one, then whichever you choose is the right answer.

Here’s a clue; if the video title uses terms like ‘underrated’ or phrases like ‘who knew this guy could pass?’, then passing/vision is probably not the strongest aspect of that player’s game.
All top players can pass to a greater or lesser extent, it doesn’t make them the playmaking equivalent of Zinedine Zidane.
Mane was never better than him. When they're both on form it's not even remotely close between the two, no idea why this opinion got so popular
Mane ain't no heedless chicken. He's instrumental he might not score as much but his skill, ball control, footwork and flair causes problems. He's one of he best n the world.

Oops sorry. Both players are instrumental. You can criticize them all you like but at the end of the day it is trophies that matter. They must be being something right because they are scoring loads of goals and winning CL's and league titles.

Can anyone else recall a player scoring two similar-ish outstanding goals almost back to back?
I guess Yeboah had the two for Leeds, but I think they were a few weeks apart.
For what its worth I think the City one is slightly better? Not sure what the general consensus is though.

Nani’s first 4 goals for United were all absolute belters.
I’d argue that they were pretty close before Mane fell off a cliff and this legitimized the Mane Vs Salah debate at the time in many circles. Salah’s knack for scoring was his greatest weapon while Mane was that mazy, skillful attacker with an excellent work rate. I seem to remember that Salah was not so spectacular in Europe in the year that Liverpool won the champions league. I seem to remember that Bayern match either in the 2nd round or QF where Mane was unstoppable. Right now there is no question who is the better player as Salah’s consistency has shone through and through while Mane is just getting up from a season and a half long slumber.

He's on some form, but sometimes I wonder how ultra bias we are, as he's seemingly getting unanimous praise as the best in the world right now from uk pundits and fans, when Benzema's being absolutely sublime himself, in a weaker team, albeit in a weaker league(always debatable but whatever) and well, just a bit less flashy though. I dunno, maybe I being pedantic for no reason.

That’s beside the point though. Right now he is on a different level.
For the umpteenth time, Mane' was/is never as good as Salah. One is pure class the other is a hard working, good forward. If ever a striker/forward is described as having great work rate that means he doesn't score enough or doesn't have enough qualities in front goal. Messi, Neymar, Salah, Cristiano, Lewandowski, Benzema, Mbappe and players of that ilk are never described as hard working - they do the goals/assists moments of magic do the talking. The donkeys that run around are hard working.
Salah always had the higher ceiling of the two, but I wouldn't call Mane a simple, hard working forward. He was pretty influential in the first part of their title winning season, where he was scoring or setting up winners late in the game. He was Messi's choice for the Balon D'Or voting, where he ended up finishing fourth. If he was only a hard working, any decent forward then plenty would emulate his performance over the last few years. IMO He has great strength, pace, close control, vision, and heading abilities and a tenacity for hounding opponents — it's generally difficult to find a player who excels at all of these skills.
