This isn't the case. Rose used to be a left winger, and was basically already a WB. He only played one season under AVB as a LB.
Dier was signed as a CB and played at RB and CB before Poch moved him to midfield. He only returned to defence under Jose
It means just keeping possession for the sake of not letting opposition to have the ball and cause damage, if I read his previous post right about Poch's initial time was similar to AvB ball
Its somewhat confusing, reports say Mitchell and Poch got on well, and Mitchell left cause of Levy. Then when you look at the history after Mitchell left Poch's new title changed from first team coach to manager so we can only assume. Even when we had a sporting director at that time we had a "transfer board" consisting of a few guys who made decisions as a group. At the end of the day back then it was Levy who signed off, so while Poch maybe gave the nod they may not have been his first choice.
Poch came in under Baldini, and moaned until he went.
Mitchell was brought in from Southampton, allegedly on Poch's wishes, and then Poch moaned until he was put on gardening leave.
He's rarely been good at picking transfers (see also, https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...r-record-Southampton-Spurs-expect-summer.html) but the usual Spurs fan opinion is that anyone who worked out great was definitely Pochettino, and anyone who didn't wasn't. Most of the lustful Pochettino opinions are easily debunked by the data/evidence both sides of his time with us.
He was very much limited on fees and wage bill, obviously. Hes far from perfect in transfers but lets not go overboard in criticism here.
Poch had him in midfield and had that system where he dropped into defence, Dier is a shit midfielder and a decent CB. Yes he was signed as a CB yes, still remmeber him scoring against WH on his debut, but Poch's most successful time was when he dropped in. Rose was never an established winger, he only started playing regularly as a left back.

Correct, initially its about possession and press, I do remember a few games, one against Liverpool in the league where he actively conceded position to break but that was rare

£400m, that's huge no matter which two ways you look at it.
Especially for a club like Spurs, who don't really sit at the top table when it comes to expenditure.
The money only really dried up towards the latter transfer windows when the stadium costs hit home.

TBF, English media is very warm to him. Having all kind of pressure from every directions at PSG (players, directors, home fans, media, fans from other league...); coming back to England is tempting. Tuchel success at Chelsea jumping the ship mid season, also encouraging (not exact same situation though) from his POV, perhaps?
Him at least winning the French league may prevent him from being seen as career ending failure, but it wouldn't boost his credential further, if his next goal is to manage historical big club, which is us. Given the chance, it's tempting.

I’m not actually in favour of Poch but one thing I will say is that at least he’s showing his willingness to come (if these reports are true).

Poch has nothing under his belt yet, from anywhere.
He can almost guarantee a Ligue 1 title this season with potentially a CL Title on Top.
I just can’t fathom why any manager would jump ship from that, no matter who came calling.
Poch isn’t exactly at a small Club punching higher than expectations. PSG regardless of the league quality, is a European Giant with league title expectations and CL expectations.
United is in no way shape or form this season anywhere near in as an exciting position as what PSG are in ambition wise.
People go on about how Poch hasn’t won anything of note, yet expect him to leave his position where he could actually potentially win something of note (CL more so) for United who don’t look like winning anything this season of note.

Pochettino is a fantastic coach, and a guy who genuinely seems to love football and implementing his own style and seemingly prepared to leave a vapid set up at psg with a near guaranteed title this season. He'd be a good fit for United if not my first choice and a damn sight better than a half arsed Zidane
For a manager right now then Poch rather than Zidane just seems a better fit for us to me, mainly because I think Poch actually genuinely wants the job, and so will give us everything, whereas Zidane would feel forced, and would be looking for a way out pretty quickly.

He seems like a guy who prefer doing his own thing than winning. PSG for all the wealth is cut throat environment where different things dictates every day life of the manager and player.
I am not saying Poch situation is same as Tuchel. I am hypothesizing from Poch perspective. PSG has the players, but since it's difficult to get the tune out of all the superstar, a team good enough team that will listen to the manager, may be seen as better team for the manager. Ultimately you want to win CL. Why not start with a more comfortable environment? And United is the historical big club, he would actually like. Normally you're supposed to work it up to get to this kind of job. Now given the chance without proving the ability to win French league, itKs an attractive offer.

People tend to fixate on 'net spend', which only really inflates the opinion of clubs that are awful at selling players. It isn't really any reliable measure of anything relevant.
That's why it tends to not get much attention. People are more interested in regurgitating the "shoestring budget" nonsense.
Ideally they would both be prepared to wait until the summer then could get Ten Hag
