Dont we desperately crave a lot more though? What Poch offers sounds worryingly like what Ole offered to me, and the stick a lot of people used to beat Ole with

For what it’s worth I do think he’s a better manager than Ole. I just struggle to get excited by it.
As much as I hate to say this but being completely realistic the likelihood of any manager coming in and bridging the huge gap between us, City and Liverpool in the next 18 months is extremely unlikely.
I hope that we hire with that in mind so that we are ready to pounce once Pep and Klopp both leave. Build on the foundations of what is a squad full of talent and with the right guidance will be a genuine force at that time.

we don’t need to “get back” into the top 4, but a manager who picked up 85 points for fecking Spurs could improve on that here. Improving on 85 points gets you close to a title challenge.

I think on your last point you probably will be surprised about how much better of a manager he is than Ole. I still love Ole to death as a person but it is like comparing a League One manager to a Premier League manager.

Not really.
1. He made them a top 4 side in 4 out of 5 full seasons which is far beyond what Spurs achieved before or after, if it was that easy they'd have done it before him and they'd be doing it after. United have regularly finished outside the top 4 in the last 9 years despite spending a fortune every summer, Liverpool pre-Klopp were in and out of the top 4 for years (mostly out). Arsenal have been out the top 4 for years.
2. His best season was 2nd place with 86 points - that's a step beyond scraping a top 4 finish.
3. Reached a CL final, again far beyond what people thought was possbile for Spurs.
4. He wasn't "given" a 30 goal a season striker. Kane was playing on loan in the championship until he was 21. Poch brought him into the 1st team, you make it sound like he was gifted prime Aguero for £100m.
5. He did all this with the net spend of a midtable team.
It's not that I have no doubts about him, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

Yeah I think so too. Sounds like we were even prepared to employ a 6 month stop-gap while we kept his seat warm, but if he still wants to remain with Ajax even after that then fair fecks to the guy. You move on.

I think the problem with waiting for Ten Hag is that it could end up putting us in a bad position.
We get to the summer hoping to get him then he decides to sign for City, or Madrid or whoever else. Pochettino feels like second choice and has just had a good Champions League run, Mancini, Enrique and Flick are all focused on the world cup. Zidane takes the France job and doesn't want to come here anyway. We then end up with a fourth or fifth choice or worse keeping someone like Blanc to save face after knowingly wasting the remainder of this season. I can understand the reservations despite him seeming incredibly talented. If we could get the second most attractive option now it does make sense.
There must be a better interim than Ragnick... more I learn about him, more he seems a bit exaggerated
