All those questioning why Sancho was dropped, maybe he hasn't fully recovered from Covid, maybe he hasn't performed well in training or done what he was told while training at home.

So RR has dropped Sancho? Questionable decision, in my opinion.

I don’t see it as being dropped personally, it’s just mixing it up, I was hoping we’d do same in CM with Donny.

I’m with you on the thought process though, I would have liked to have seen him start, was starting to get a good run of games.

Nice to see Cavani back and Varane, Telles back in, Shaw on bench, Dalot in AWB on bench those are 2 realy big changes from the old regime.
    Let's see how this goes . 3pts please .

Good side. I’m not questioning anything about selection after a covid outside

I was disgusted by Maguire's selection until I saw no Lindelof on the bench.

Hope lindelof being absent from the squad is just for precautionary reasons since he seemed to be training on the first day Carrington re-opened.

    Not happy with Rashford starting

I’m just happy we’re back playing, it’s been far too long! Desperate for a result but hopefully we can put a performance in too.

Hopefully we've ditched the 4-2-2-2 already.

Hopefully our manager isn’t as impatient as fans. fecking hell, let’s just change the plans every 2 games our fans are unhappy with performances.

Rashford starts but Sancho dropped. Who cares about form?

What form? We’ve not played a game for almost half a millennium. There is no form.

It's been so long since I had a starting line up to react to. Great to see Varane back and overall a very attacking line up. Shaw and Wan Bissaka are clearly well out of favour as they would surely be fully fit by now. Shame to see Sancho dropped, but I wonder if we're still looking at a 4-2-2-2 here or is it more of a 4-3-3 situation. The main thing is how we approach the game I suppose, in and out of possession.

Surprised to see Sancho on the bench but we don't know the situation with Covid, who actually had it and if it took anything out of them.

All those questioning why Sancho was dropped, maybe he hasn't fully recovered from Covid, maybe he hasn't performed well in training or done what he was told while training at home.

So why is Rashford starting when he's been god awful in actual matches?

    Happy about Rashford starting

It's been a difficult time for him with his 'injury' and baby being sick and all that. I imagine the club has given him some time off, which is fine with Varane coming back into the fold.

The 4-2-3-1 will never die. Neither will the bizarre loyalty to Maguire and Rashford.

Maguire has looked solid under Ralf, much more like his old self.

Rashford has been out of form for some time and could probably use some time on the bench. The problem is his replacements aren't exactly tearing it up either. He could have gone with Cavani, I guess. Maybe he isn't 100% fit?

Oh I haven’t heard anything about his baby, I hope all ok on that. :(

People love to whinge, absolute sad little souls.
You know it's possible for someone to state an opinion without it being a whinge, nor the person being sad. If people were more tolerant and less quick to throw abuse around, like you've just done, the Internet would be a much more pleasant place to converse.

We havent played in 2 weeks its pretty much a clean slate for the players now, any form has gone.

Strange line up,why is he persisting with Rashford who as much i like should be dropped on merit and his current form

Perhaps he really impressed ralf in the training? And Sancho disappointed

Also trying 433 for the first time it seems

I think we'd smash them so hopefully the lads have a nice game

I doubt it's a 4-2-3-1 given the selection of two wingbacks in Dalot/Telles instead of two fullbacks in AWB/Shaw. But you never know.

If it is indeed a 4-2-2-2, I'd expect Greenwood to be in one of the AM positions, with Rashford in one of the striker positions.

fanbase on twitter already melting down about this lineup, truly braindead. I understand the frustration about Rashford over Sancho but we have a game in 3 days and some players have had covid and may have had their fitness affected differently. Turning on Rangnick already is insane we're going to need to rotate it's not just about who's 'earned a place'. Team is more than good enough to beat Newcastle. Come on United!

I know I'm being negative but I just can't warm to the thought of Mcfred being out first choice midfield. Each year I think I've seen the last of that pairing but it just won't go away.

Now that my rant is out of the way, I'm hoping we can get the job done in the first 60mins so we can sub our key players in anticipation for Burnley.

Could be a fitness issue or saving him.

Or two United managers plus the England manager have not impressed with him so far to be a key player I mean I have not so far myself.

Of course it is, but if you can't see some of the posts on here are indeed whinging then fair enough, it's quite clearly whinging from some, not all quite obviously.

Pretty much no other choice though, is there? Hopefully in January we'll have new options.

So Zaha has played more games and scored fewer goals, so how’s it proven? Guy even finished in the top 20 scorers 20/21 season, so where’s the thousands that out scored him?
Did he piss in your cereal or don’t you like him forcing the government to feed needy kids? I don’t get it.
Sorry I was being extremely sarcastic. Would have thought that was obvious by me saying thousands of current players are better than him.

There's no such thing as 'current form'. United haven't played for 16 days. The closest thing to 'current form' are the performances in training. Rangnick is far more privy to those than any of us on this forum.

I'd have agreed with you if it was a few players, but its literally just him and Lindelof, who had health problems against Norwich. Poor Jadon!
