No I am no Chelsea fan. I am a fan of ÖSK. My club recently got relegated to Superettan, the second tier of Swedish football. I barely watched this Chelsea game.
I watched Napoli Inter on TV and I had this one on the computer, but kept switching it with Leverkusen Stuttgart.
Manchester United is by far my favourite foreign sports club. And United winning this trophy on top of the Champions League would make me feel much happier than a random 3 points in a season with almost zero hope of wining the PL.
In terms of determining which is the best team in England, yes utterly useless.
The thing that we United fans don't like or want to here. Only deluded fan will still be happy the way Manchester United are run right now.

It’s quite obvious Chelsea are being run better than United in many ways given we are saddled with the Glazers and have struggled to do anything of real note post Sir Alex.

My enthusiasm for this tournament was largely dependent on whether we won it. So yeah I'm buzzing that we've won this. Nice little holiday for the players. Pick up a nice trophy. Not bad.

Yes I do. It is the first time the club has won it. It is also the second cup this season and three for Tuchel in one year at Chelsea. Winning cups never gets old. Losing them gets old real fast.

Palmeiras is the 4th best team in Brazil and they actually always struggle when facing better teams and had to use defensive tactics. Their win against Flamengo was a defensive display, they did not have the fire power to match Flamengo's squad.

Anytime you get to a cup final, teams play conservative. It is a great sign to win. Also great that Havertz had that penalty and was ice. It should boost his confidence.

If it was a stand alone tournament I would agree it was pointless but you have to become champions of Europe to even get in it.
Really clever from Dave to keep the ball before the pen until the final moment. This video shows how much the Palmeiras players were shit talking him before the kick they thought he would be taking. He said in an interview afterwards he knew they would do it so he didn't want Kai being put off.
Yeah, I’m inclined to agree. You’re the only club in Europe to qualify for it after all! Financially speaking the prize money seems to only be £5m so an extra 1 or 1.5% of your turnover. Not a huge amount but it’s the unquantifiable aspects. The Middle East is a wealthy market and it can’t hurt to be crowned world champions there.

Chelsea are going to end up with some kind of record surely, for games played. They’ve played 40 this season (Utd are on 33 for comparison) and they’re still in all competitions. They could easily play something like 70 games if they go deep in the FA and CL
Congrats to Chelsea, fantastic achievement and triple crown (CL, European SuperCup, Club World Cup) completed.
It is laughable to dismiss such games as mickey mouse trophies, they are the pinnacle of the sport and you do not get there by invitation. This also shows the PL really is a top 3 league, with Liverpool (both PL and CL winners), City (PL warriors) and Chelsea (cup warriors) the only consistent super powers in ten years.
Also, it is laughable to claim top 6, top 10 or whatever… for all the monies tier 2 clubs have, the best players in football are wary to join tier 2 PL clubs instead of European top clubs because nobody likes to fight for the 4th place trophy in England… and rightly so: who cares, really?
Again, very well done to Chelsea… if one, the Russian oligarch showed that big monies can buy competence and build a competent, self sustaining system after the initial bounty.
