It is, but the salaries they earn are often the absolute maximum they can earn inclusive of bonuses & sponsorships.
Their actual income is often not even close to the reported sums, especially in this United team.

When you see him play like when he came on against Brighton, you think we should do everything to keep him. The problem is that’s not what you are getting for your 500k a week and that’s why you have Fred and Scott. You can be in a relationship that the sex is brilliant but only get it on your birthday rather than with someone that it is average but at least it’s regular….your choice.
The point is nobody except you and maybe your partner, your manager & HR know how much you earn right?
Why would the principle be any different for footballers? We can give an estimation of how much they earn *if* they hit bonuses & fulfil their sponsorship duties - but nobody other than them, their lawyers, our lawyers & HR are likely to know the intimate details of their contract, including what those bonuses are.
The media however, are able to say "footballer x earns up to £250k weekly" in the same way, you put "allegedly" when talking about a potential crime.
Fans however take that 250k figure literally and assume they are earning their max potential earnings on a weekly basis, when the reality is often no where close to it.
Not that they don't earn an obscene money anyway, but the sensationalism around their salaries sells more papers & generates more clicks.

Don’t get involved in my posts for no reason if you’ve nothing relational to add. My reply to the initial poster was in reference to Pogba in comparison to other players in his position. If you just want to criticise Pogba then do that but don’t bother replying to my post.

Shouldn't take a genius to work out that he was not saying he's leaving. Just shows how quick people are to paint any action of his as a negative.
People complain about the players and their social media activities when the players themselves are not directly involved in these. It is just marketing. People pay attention to these and react, just to have a spell of outrage. Meanwhile, the players make more money on their image rights. The players probably are grateful.

You wanted to make an entire argument about my thoughts on Cavani for some reason, which would derail the entire thread. You wrote an entire post about Cavani almost, It was completely non relational to anything being discussed and I felt this thread (or the Pogba performance thread) would’ve ended up the Cavani thread. So I declined to get involved and stuck to the debate around Pogba.
The difference here is that the analogy referenced Pogba in relation to McFred…the other poster chose to get involved but wanted to only criticise Pogba and ignore the fact that the analogy in relation to Pogba’s regularity of performance and also relational to McFred didn’t work….which was my point.
One was a non relational post wanting, weirdly, to change the debate to a different player. The other wanted to focus on the analogy in full, not pull one part of it out and change the context.

Club has very little space for maneuver though. It's not like Pogba wasn't offered a deal in the last few years, he just doesn't want to sign.
Unless you think giving him galactico wages is a good idea, there's not much the club can do. Having o high profile manager might help, although I doubt this will be the deciding factor.
A better analogy would be that it’s like having a hot girlfriend who’s great in bed, that your family don’t treat very well and then you wonder at times why she seems a little non committal. The relationship overall has been good but your family prefer the other option who’s ugly as sin, shite in bed, has bad breath and limited personality but she’s a grafter. Not a particularly skilled one, an extremely flawed one and so the benefits of the graft don’t particularly exists……..but she’s a grafter. Eventually the hot girlfriend decides that it’s in her best interests to leave the toxic environment and you’re left with an ugly as sin, shite in bed, grafter and your family are overjoyed.
