Pogba

Here we go again. One good half against Leeds is all that's needed.

Like someone said in the matchthread... cant wait till he leaves so we can have a midfield without skill and just have low talent but hard workers like McT

How come every time Pogba plays well, it’s reduced to ‘one good game against X’ or ‘one good half against Y?’ He’s generally been really good this season, but his detractors will have you believe he’s coming off months of poor form.

He’s such classy player. It’s always the same, his talent has never been in doubt, his top level is as good as any player in the world. The question is consistency, same as always. They always used to say with Scholes in his prime, the average fan wouldn’t even notice if he had a bad game, his bottom level was higher than most players’ top level. Pogba on the other hand, maxes out at both ends of the scale. This is why this back and forth has never ended.

Our best player that half quality wise. Few things. He’s got the legs all around him in the middle which hypothetically should make his job a lot easier. Leeds are obviously quite a poor team this season, man for man we are far better than them. It was just always going to be a case of if they were far more up for it than us to cause an upset. Pogba was good and aggressive from the corner too.

The same “fans” that think Pogba is shit also want Henderson in goal and Ronaldo sold.

He's been literally away for few months

Much better when he doesn't play in a double pivot.

The perfect CDM to let Pogba and Bruno do their own thing further up the pitch was for me found by Ole before he got the sack.

Taking the piss today. Such a player pity we never built a great team around him.

I think it has to do with the absurd revisionism on the Caf re: Pogba. I agree he's been good since he came back. But he has had so, so many disappointing performances, made a lot of crucial mistakes losing the ball dangerously etc. And it's as if all that gets wiped out every time he dribbles a guy.

when he’s on sing he’s a joy to watch but let’s not forget that van de beek also looked good against these lot.

Ralf certainly seems able to get the best out of Paul. Not sure what’s different but he seems more involved and our midfield doesn’t resemble a sieve

I'd love that to be the case, but I think it's a lot more likely he's just playing for his new contract, whether it's here or elsewhere.

But, but. . . he’s a virus.

When I first joined I was given a 3 point warning for saying be careful what you wish for to posters, nothings changed. He’s never been the issue.

Exactly, and he was good before injury and has been good since he returned. So how exactly do you reduce that to one good half against Leeds?

Because it is Pogba, he does something good and it will be mentioned as 'its just once he does something good' or 'its just one half he played well'. When he doesnt play well or makes a mistake it will be 'he makes mistakes all the time' or 'he was shit the second half'.

Pogba will never be do anything right in the eyes of some fans. They made up their mind long ago and changing their opinion would be admitting that they were wrong. People dont like to do that. If he leaves he will be a star where he goes, he will be a joy to watch and we will still be watching McT trying to pass to a teammate.

Honestly I don’t think people realise how much playing for a contract or move motivates players. We’ve seen it time and time again. A comfort seems to set in with a lot of players in the first few years of a contract if they’re not competing for honours.

This assumption is based on what exactly? Every time he plays well it’s either he wants a new contract or he wants away. Perhaps he’s just having a good game. Yes he’s leaving but the inferiority complex the fans fed into from day one is part of the issue. He’s a good footballer, having a good game. Enjoy.

We’ve also seen multiple players on long term deals play well. From day one it’s been, he wants a move if he plays well. Maybe he’s just having a good game & considering McFred will be present next season we should just enjoy it. The thought process is always so sinister with Pogba.

Currently on 18 passes in total with 67% accuracy. De gea is on 14, and Pogba is central midfielder. Silky moves are great and he has created two or three moves all by himself, but we've lost the control of the game and he is nowhere to be found.

We've lost control of the game because of a fluke goal and a relentless press, blaming this on Pogba is pure agenda

His manager is probably having an agenda too!

He's clearly not fit enough to play the full match after 3/4 months off from injury, and we're playing about 8 games in the next 6 weeks or so, so he (like others) needs to be managed.
Unless you have an agenda, this is common sense.
