Yes, I didn't say every striker averages more unsuccessful touches than the shots they take. It's just that, it's not uncommon to have more unsuccessful touches than shots.
Lewa averages 5 shots per game, he should be non league player to have more unsuccessful touches than that.
Hilarious, maybe I’ll stops hearing from my friends about his “world class hold up play” or “best back to goal striker” etc. The only way you can realistically form that opinion is by never watching him play.
There are loads of decent players in world football that if you built a team around then they would score for fun, I don’t see what Lukaku gets those allowances made for him. He’s just a painfully average footballer and always will be.
If he's able to say he should be spoke about with the best in the world he's able to be criticised.
It's his mouth moreso than his play that's caused the widespread hatred.
Is a little harsh to be fair for that to be from a serious news reporting entity. However he doesn’t help himself. This is a guy who was proclaiming he was in the top five strikers in the world and expecting to be held amongst Messi, Lewandowski etc. He seemed to blame his indifferent season at United on everybody but himself.
If there’s one thing the English press love is knocking someone down off a high horse and hes played right into that with his initial undeserved arrogance and his now spectacular fall.

Fact is, it was a great move by Ole to get rid of him, he only went to Inter because they were the only ones stupid enough to pay the money Utd wanted. It worked out for them he scored a few goals and they got to sell him to Chelsea for a nice profit.

the hate for Lukaku has seeped into my subconscious now. I'm throwing shots even when I mean to support him.99% of the fans saying there is "no need for this" were probably having a right old tug when his "first touch" clips came out when he was at United.
I suppose there is a difference between fans creating fail comps and Skyports doing it.

He had the perfect formula in Italy. Strike partner next to him to do some of the dirty work, up against slower defences, in a country where he wasn’t meme’d by virtually every fan and pundit going. He’s a fool for leaving.

He’s set a record for the most anonymous performance since records began. It would be weird if they simply ignored it. Especially given his price tag.
Not entirely the same player. He got fitter, lost considerable weight, and that did help him regain the scoring form that he showed at Everton and to some extent in his first United season.
His ratio for Belgium also is much better over the last 2.5 years than over the seasons prior to that Inter move.
Inter made a smart choice buying Correa and Dzeko, to replace him. But Correa's injury forced them to use Dzeko more than what his 35-year-old legs really warrant. Dzeko was kind of underwhelming against Liverpool, it was his 4th start in 10 days, and you could see some Inter fans on Twitter pretending Lukaku would have made the difference. I tend to believe the opposite and I felt that Dzeko's technical quality helped them cope with Barella's absence and go toe to toe with one of the very best teams in Europe. At least for 75 mn. But Dzeko doing the "Lacazette job" made him less present in the box.
He broke a premier league record, why wouldn’t they show the highlights for that?
He doesn't bulk up, he gets fatter. He does it whenever he isn't 100% happy anywhere. Hes a ridiculously highly paid professional and he can't even be bothered to keep himself in peak shape when things are going his way. This is one of the many reasons there is very little love for Lukaku.
I think he/the club feels he needs to for his hold up play. He's ridiculously weak at holding the ball up and battling headers for a guy of his size. In Italy the game isn't played that way so he didn't need to worry about it but back in the PL he's getting bullied by defenders he is twice the size of.
We all thought he was just being lazy when he did here but it cant be coincidence he's doing it again now.
At Inter, the club has a nutrition specialist monitoring the eating habits of some players.
For Lukaku it was published that he was put on a specific diet with sweet potatoes and shirataki noodles. Mostly low calory stuff that would give your brain a higher sense of satiety and prevents the absorption of fats.
It would be interesting to know how clubs in general work with these things, and to what extent players are just trusted to take care of themselves and follow some unwritten rules.

But wasn’t the story put out, I presume by Lukaku or Inter, that they’d identified and solved a dietary problem he’d had while at United? So they were putting his physical condition while here down to an issue rather than a conscious decision.
For a striker of his physique and size, he is bad at winning headers and holding the ball, but his anticipation where the long ball is going to land is even worse.
Probably a PR fluff piece to make him look better. He's always coming up with excuses and distractions.

Not a fluff piece. And if it was, it would be making Matteo Pincellla look better, not the players who can't take care of themselves. He was brought to work with the entire team at Inter. Not specifically for Lukaku. Pincella is still working with Inter.
Pincella worked also with Italy during the summer, thanks to Mancini's connexions with Inter.
Commenting on individual players playing poorly isn’t scapegoating. People will go in to a specific player’s performance thread here and question why everyone there is scapegoating that player after a bad performance. Mental.

Making up goal records? Did he not eclipse R9's goal record at Inter with 13 games to spare before adding four more? Lukaku scored 64 in 95 for Inter, Ronaldo scored 59 in 99. Ronaldo also scored 15 penalties for Inter. Lukaku was also the first Inter player in 71 years to score in four successive Milan derbies. Challenge those stats please. Facts are he made a wise career decision leaving united. He won a league title and broke records while united remained in the doldrums under Solskjaer. Deal with it

Why is it always scapegoating when it comes to Lukaku? What is it about him that elicits sympathy? Never seen any other 100m+ player get babied like this.
