I agree with you, people need to see what the harsh realities of this are, because some are acting like it's fun and games. But, on the other hand, some people are really sensitive to that kind of thing.

Nice one, thanks! Is the Chinese system used in parallel to SWIFT? The Chinese economy is obviously much bigger than 0.5% of the world's, so assume that the vast majority of China (including the government?) use SWIFT. Therefore, what's the purpose of CIPS? China's attempt to have a competing system?
My point being, up until now there's been relatively little pressure and will for Russia/China/etc move from SWIFT (understandable, from what you've said and from what I've read in the last 30 mins). But an event like this could see a large impetus from Russia and China to force CIPS to become a major player. E.g. China mandates that all companies in China must use CIPS as the primary method - as they're not banned from SWIFT it means that they'll still be doing business worldwide, but could force those 11k banks that use SWIFT to also adopt CIPS. I've probably missed something fundamental there, but that's how I imagine it works?
Basically, I can kind of see why some countries wouldn't want to boot Russia out of SWIFT as it could have seriously significant long term consequences. Obviously Germany et al. don't want to write off the debt Russian entities owe them, too...

Read a bit on their history. Russia obliterated all that was normal in Chechnya. They had big uprising, which ended in tears for Chechens and Kadirov is now a supreme leader there. Satellite of Putin ready and capable of horrendous crimes.
Can Ukraine beat Russia? No.

It really is. But I don't even think it's about inconvenience to us the people, but to the companies who want to keep doing business with Russia. Hence, the reluctance to cut Russia off from SWIFT.
I'm sensitive. I hate it. It makes me sad. But so it should. We shouldn't be comfortable sitting in our chairs drinking coffee at our PC's putting our hands over our eyes. It SHOULD make us feel shitty. It's still nothing compared to what the people of Ukraine are going through.

People should have the choice of whether they want to see it too. There are plenty of other places that people can see the images.
Sad but this should be done. No chance of survival fighting against powerful soldiers as a civilian.

I'm not sure. Probably some, but I'm not sure how many people will be there — since organizing those is a serious crime that leads to real prison sentences, we have to somehow evade direct channels of communications, which makes things way more difficult to set up.
That's why i'm fine with the rule, because I do get some people don't want to see that kind of thing, even though I think they should.

Double win for Putin. Not only he will have Ukraine but also divided EU even more. Germany and Italy will be seen as traitors and mercenaries. EU is absolutely useless if we fail to act on what happens right on our boarders. And no, I am not talking about send in an army. Real sanctions is what the people ask. Not some bullshit nonsense ones that we have now, we look like clowns that Putin is laughing at.
These are not EU forces but forces of the member states. As of today, the EU isn't a military union not even when you consider EUFOR. Someone like Macron is trying to make it a military union with an actual dedicated defense.

Already evidence of war crimes, so once they're in control of the country that isn't a country according to Putin, what horrors will they commit to keep the population in check.
