If we go for Poch over Ten Hag then we deserve to go 30+ years of not winning a title and watch him replace Pep and piss all the trophies under him while we turn into another nothing club

It's hard to be convinced by Poch when it seems he's underperforming on a regular.

He might have more experience at the top level and in the Premier league but he is looking poor as a coach of big players

Think they are just tanking in the League.

They know that the league is already done and they want to win the CL, especially with this squad.

You cannot turn it on and off. You have to be at it 100 percent. You cannot be a little of this and a little of that.

I like Nice. Dante still going strong and the other centre back toribo I think his name is is decent. The otehr Thuram brother is fairly promising and Kluivert always looks godo for them, but is awful in thefinal third. I didnt realise Stengs evenwent to Nice. Great cross.

Though he wasnt involved hugely, again everything Giouri did was right. Great touch and technique, intelligence and unlucky not to bend one into the corner. Just wish he wouldnt drift out so wide, so often, thinl thats the team set up rather than natural play. Really hope we have interest in him

Neymar, messi and di Maria as a front 3 and you don’t score one. They only had 2 shots on target. Can tell the players aren’t motivated… once you win the league you just give up. Where as in the champions league they’ll play better because they want to win it. Pochettino doesn’t seem like a motivational manager… this is one of the reasons I want ten Haag. I remember a quote from ten Haag where they won a game like 5-0 but he still wasn’t happy..: he wanted more goals. That’s the type of mentality we want as a manager. He will demand the same from the players, pochettino is letting his players performances drop.

Why doesn't donnaruma start for pag? Not first choice?

Navas bar the odd clanger has been really good for them, and seemsvery popular. Really bad move by himI think. So many good players I feel have wasted careers at PSG thatcould have been really good for big clubs amongst the myriad of psg signings

If he isn't sacked in the summer then he should resign the moment Mbappe leaves. Individual brilliance will only take you so far.

I wonder if tonights game will be blamed on profligate striking as tends to be the usual excuse by our resident Poch lover?
Or maybe not considering the general lack of attacking play from PSG!

Galtier owns Poch.

A manager who peaked and is on the decline or at best, has stagnated for a few years now. People keep commenting on his Spurs' reign, but all of this is just a continuation of the end of his Spurs' reign. People forget he was sacked. I think it's high time we stop hiring managers who are on the decline or who have failed to convince for a considerable amount of time now.

Predictable the usual suspects running to this thread after tonight's game.

They have won the league and know it. What happens against Real this week is the test.

No doubt there will be a lot of posters here cheering Real on

Galtier is the most impressive manager out there when you look at his track record. Beats Poch, Ten Hag and the rest for me. It was strange how he walked away from Lille, which makes me think he's just wired differently to others, otherwise he'd have a top job by now. His Nice team is really good to watch at times.

When will people stop superfocusing on their league performances?

They beat City on aggregate(with a some luck, mind you) in the group stages and did as they pleased against RM, no matter how poor they appeared in the league at the same time(a league they are still walking btw).

We basically know already that if we appoint him he'll be sacked after three seasons maximum after having won nothing. What's the point in going through that pain?

One of the worst managers on our list of potential candidates.

From latest United perspective, having choice in Ten Hag, Rangnick or Poch is actually not that tragic as it looks.

Just few years ago the main candidates were Allegri, Ole, Howe and occasional mention of Blanc.

@Amadaeus you doing well brother?

Agreed about motivation but that’s a dangerous game to play, IMO. He should be using league matches to improve their intensity and combination play - similar to how Bayern dominate in the BL. Yet PSG seem to be just going through the motions in L1. You can’t just switch on and off in a matter of days etc, so it might come back to haunt them in the UCL - and that’s where any PSG manager is evaluated.

Anyway, rather PSG than Pool or City, and they have a better shot at eliminating either (over madrid), so I’ll definitely be rooting for them.

Saw the game and Nice were really good yesterday. A joy to watch. Thuram looks an exciting prospect. The league is already won for PSG though.
PSG will win the league, may progress vs Real but even getting through to semis is doubtful. Poch is a fine manager clearly but it's not working out for him in Paris, for various reasons probably.

PSG look so open. The attack doesn’t help for sure but the gaps that occur in all areas of the pitch is terrible.

He's just not as good as Galtier. No real shame in that either, think Galtier will have the better career.

Why would you insult Galtier like that?

Why would we go for a manager, nevermind his PSG performances, but let alone, why even consider a manager who has questions over him about whether he has peaked in his role? Especially over a manager who has the future to look forward to if he makes the next step.

Surely Jose taught Manchester United(both fans and board) a lesson on signing managers with rather large question marks over their sustainability? Right? Right?

Is Pochettino over-rated ? Or my appropriately what has he done to deserve or this credit and hype he now has ?

So he went to Southampton, mid to low table team to Spurs where he finished 6, 3,3,and2. That is good.

At PSG which dwarfs everything in the league in terms of money he's won the cup and come second in the league. He may have won another cup in his second game, but you can't really take credit for that.

Now they say he wants to come to United as a stepping stone for Barcelona.

Really ? Has he really done enough to justify this ?

All the things I was worried about in Pochettino have pretty much been confirmed in his time at PSG. Good coach, but cannot handle the top level where every game is a must win. He doesn’t have the experience or the aptitude to get a team over the line. Granted, PSG are mental but it’s within all their best interests to win every trophy available to them in France otherwise there’s zero point in being at PSG in the first place if you want to keep your credibility.

This thread is going to be carnage one way or another come full time at the Bernabeu.

 it's a showdown and I can't wait to see either outcome.

Galtier wins either way. If Real Madrid loses, Florentino Perez should try everything to have him and if PSG wins Pochettino is still a worse manager.

As someone who really doesn't want us to appoint Poch, I'm not sure which result would be more favourable tonight.

PSG winning might mean that they'd be reluctant to get rid of Poch without demanding hefty compensation, and it might prompt Madrid to sack Ancelotti and poach Poch. But on the flipside it might convince our board that Poch is the guy.

On the other hand PSG losing might see our board cool their interest in him, but its possible he gets sacked and then becomes a cheap hire for our board, which will no doubt excite the cheap cnuts.

:annoyed:
