Romelu Lukaku | Chelsea

I don't think there's a comparison with Werner either. Last season despite his horrors infront of goal his pressing, workrate and movement was very useful tactically (its why he carried on playing any game of note).
Let's say Lukaku is like a bulky lazy Werner than
Point is, both are best when they can run to the goal, ball in front of them. Lukaku can bully away defenders, Werner can outrun most of them, but in the end both are best when they can finish counter attacks and similar stuff. Playing with the back to the goal? Just horrible.

wrong. In Italy they play with more tactical intelligence, where as England is more chaotic. Lukaku is a student of the game so aligns with Italy's superior football

Not sure if serious

League goals scored by Chelsea's "number 9" players, in the last 15 seasons:

- 2006/07 Khalid Boulahrouz: 0
- 2007/08 Steve Sidwell: 0
- 2008/09 & 2009/10 Franco Di Santo: 0 + 0
- From 2010/11 to 2014/15 Fernando Torres 1 + 6 + 8 + 5 + 0
- 2015/16 Radamel Falcao: 1
- 2017/18 Alvaro Morata 11
- 2018/19 Gonzalo Higuain 5
- 2019/20 & 2020/21 Tammy Abraham 15 + 6
- 2021/22 Romelu Lukaku: 5

Overall goal scored by players who wore the number 9 in the last 15 years: 63; On average: 4,46 goal per season

I just proved it's not his fault but that shirt is cursed and he's clearly victim of it like all the previous "owners".
In any case with his FIVE Premier League goal scored this season Romelu Lukaku has OUTSCORED the previous no.9 Chelsea players (5 > 4,46). Well done Big Rom
Boulahrouz and sidwell wore no 9? What a pair of wankers.

Also pretty sure Di Santo is someone you made up just now.

Neville's been quiet since those first few games of the season.

Someone got hacked by @Bleu.

PL is a very athletic league. You're not mugging anyone so RIP if that's all there is to your game. Remember how often he got shrugged off the ball when he played for us. Between that and his first touch playing the ball to his feet was a nightmare. It was however nice of him to come back and vindicate what we already knew about him. Top lad.

He's one of those kids we poached from a Brazilian team without ever giving chance. Turns out he wasn't particularly good anyway.

At least Chelsea realized their mistake after half a season and didn't try to force it for 2 as Utd did. Still shouldn't have signed him, his flaws were obvious from his WBA days.

Chelsea won so no one will care, but had another shocking miss when he came on.

Can see Conte getting him on the (relative) cheap if Spurs sell Kane.

how did we try to force it for two seasons

So glad we got rid of him, he was a success in Italy but still displayed all the obvious flaws to his game on a weekly basis. Since moving to Chelsea it’s been a very bad career choice, not knowing how it would turn out though. I do expect him to leave Chelsea in the summer for a reduced fee, not sure who will take him as the Italian clubs don’t have money.

It’s going to need to be a mental loss to sell him this year. Unless Inter just agree to cancel whatever Chelsea have left to pay, not even sure if that can be done.

They bought him twice!

Lukaku is easily top 5 best striker over the last 10 years, it just poor teammates at United and Chelsea simply aren't good enough to read his brilliant runs and understand his hand pointing.

He doesn't even ask the players around him to use their imagination, he does that for them....yet they can't just place it were he points at. How frustrating!!
fecked up thing is some of the excuses being conducted for him on the Shed End were a mere one step above those

Surprised there isn't any analysis after his masterclass against the gooners.

Bring out the gifs please.

What a donkey.

The guy had one good season in Italy and thought he was as good as Kane, Benzema and Lewandowski

What's even more surprising that so many clubs paid crazy money for an art most average CF with very limited linkup play capabilities.

Anderlecht to Chelsea €15M
Chelsea to Everton €36M
Everton to Manchester United €85M
Manchester United to Inter Milan €74M
Inter Milan to Chelsea €113M.

The biggest accumulated transfer (?)

In Italy maybe.

Lukaku has terrible stats in England, opposite to Bruno.
He does not have terrible stats in England. He has 118 goals and 35 assists in 273 premier league games. Not the greatest but definitely not terrible.

Says a lot about our society that he is the one to have the highest accumulated net transfer of all time.

Those stats are terrible mate, especially considering nearly half of his 8 seasons starting as striker were for Manchester United or Chelsea.

He's in awful form and surely be shipped out in the summer. Back at Inter or similar team he'll be back to last season's form again.

Just not working in our system and squad.

With hindsight mistake to buy him, last summer very few strikers available.

If we hadn't signed him everybody would be saying it was a mistake too...
