Rashford considering his future...

I think this is the saddest iteration of a footballer I've seen. It's worse than Neville at West Brom.

He's got nothing in him. No pace, no energy, no intensity and his techniques let go of him too.

I know people use that space jam analogy too often, but here it is 100% correct.

Nothing to do with form anymore, he has lost it and wont regain it here anymore. Just pathetic, he is 24, you would think he is 34 and hanging up his boots after the season.

Surprised Gary hasn't pointed out how right Rangnick was to not start him against Leicester and City based on how he's done feck all, barely moved and contributed nothing to the game.

I'm more surprised Gary hasn't complained why Rangnick has refused to start Rashford in this game with Cristiano out, before Carra reminds him that Rashford is "playing".

Ya, I was hoping he would find some kind of form, but it's looking unlikely. Given his skill-set, I still think he can be a very good player, just quite convinced it won't be here anymore. We need a complete reset, the whole thing is stale now, players who have been here for a long time and have not improved/won feck all in that time, think it's best for a lot of these players and the club if we get rid of as many of them as possible

The worst thing is he seems like a total tool with a very on the ball PR team. They are almost too good, too quick to put out any potential fires. Anytime you get half a glimpse at his true personality it’s not good. Lack of fight and work on the pitch, arguing with teammates who demand more of him, telling fans to fk off, throwing managers under the bus… not good at all.

He does so much PR activities but he never comes out to face the press in our post match interviews.

He can pursue his social services somewhere else, just get the efff out of United.

He can't get Kelly Hogarth to do live interviews for him...he can get her to LARP as his him on social media and invent an entire personality for him.

When the next book out?

One in May, another in July. Not even joking. Again, both written by other people (Carl Anka and Alex Falase-Koya) with Rashford throwing his name on the cover.

He's got so used to receiving accolades while other people do his work that he now expects it to happen on the pitch too.

So, where is the PR statement? To think I have a little hope for Rashford to impress new manager is laughable. Time to go.

damn

Get ready for a couple more puff pieces ghost-written by his PR team.

Take Ole, Lingard and Martial (as well as a few others) out of the equation and Rashford would be twice the player. Not to forget his PR team as well. Definitely a case of the wrong influences.

Hopefully he can knuckle down and reach his potential with ETH

Clean slate for me. Really hope he can kick on under ETH, but it is more hope than expectation.

Clean slate...nothing will change at this club because we keep giving players like him chance after chance. The lad can't play football right now and we're paying him wages that our rivals are paying literal PL/CL winners.

Agreed. Rashford's had more clean slates than anyone else, he's played under 6 managers now. Time to go.

We shouldn't give him a new contract unless he proves himself to be deserving of such w high salary.

If this report is true I'd say next season is his last chance.
To be fair to him he only had one manager in his career who could work with young players and improve them. Jose didn't care about youth and Ole wasn't coaching at all.

ETH can be his savior if Marcus puts in the work and that's a big if for me.

I don't like this at all.

In case these chancers have forgotten, the season isn't over yet and we still have 5 games to go, and are (amazingly) still in a top 4 race, despite it seeming tenuous.

So I'm not interested in this talk of 'next season' after a 'proper pre-season', how about Rashford looks bothered for the next 5 games instead of writing the season off and expecting a clean slate. If he can't be arsed now, then he deserves no second chance in the summer and beyond.

The key thing here is to hold off on the contract extension and see what Ten Hag can do over a season without committing to some absurd and undeserved pay hike that ensures his place in the dressing room for another 2/3 years.

He fits Ten Hag's plans how exactly? As winger? If Antony comes, Rashford will be down the pecking order, well below Sancho, Antony and Elanga. As CF? We don't know if Ronaldo will leave. And as I understand it we are looking to buy a dedicated CF anyway? To say nothing of his actual ability in that position. I hardly see him playing at all.

Sell him. If he stays he will become unsaleable next summer.

Agreed, I'm skeptical as to whether Rashford can turn it around next season, but if Ten Hag decides he wants to give him the chance then so be it. The same applies to anyone else he wants to keep or get rid of I guess.

Let's say this true. It's staggering to think that we've allowed things to reach the point where as the situation stands he feels he is the one with the right to call the shots on if he stays or goes when it should be the club deciding whether he is actually worth keeping.

A Manchester lad who doesn't show any fight, specially against Liverpool shouldn't be given another chance, just run like a madman against Liverpool to show you care - but nothing.

He's all about the money and the image, as soon as the chips are down (and they will be again) he'll hide like a coward, same for all these current players, not many have shown any real fight to be given another chance.

You know if we somehow manage to be in a title race or a CL final within the next 3 years, and the race/game gets tough, they'll buckle under pressure, these same players struggle to achieve top 4 without folding like IKEA furniture.

Can you picture any of these players in the Liverpool or City team? They'd wet themselves having to win every game until the end of the season.
