Basically sounds like Richard Arnold and John Murtough are ripping up trees root and stem and redoing everything, which is what needs to happen.

As with anything this club does now I will wait and see... but radical change is needed. It has got to be a case of "if not now, then when?"

Woodward trying to keep all the power for himself? Who would have guessed

Exactly what I’d been saying in another thread. People think because he’d been appointed last year he must’ve been making all the decisions since then. They clearly haven’t been been paying attention to Ed Woodward the last 10 years and how egotistical the cnut was.

Yeah, already calling him yes man, failure and all sort of nonsense names.

I've been saying the same mate, and it was obvious to anyone that had a basic understanding of the remit of a DoF, that this was the case with how the club was structured at first team level.

Just act now, we don't care for talk

Can start by being ruthless in the transfer window and getting in targets early

So the guy Murtaugh hired challenged them about getting new players and said how it really was and the first thing they did was to get rid of him.

Meh. Seen this movie a million times before. Anyone falling for this is just a naive muppet. Action speaks louder than words.

Aye it’s bizarre. Everything’s negative with some of our so called fans, desperate to write the guy off before he’s even had a chance to do his job. He should be given a clean slate like anybody else, on the face of it everything we’ve heard from Murtough and Arnold so far has been positive. Time will tell obviously but for now what more do people want?

Optimism must be stamped out. Only suffering.

Who are Korn Ferry and how much football experience do they have? Sounds similar to what woodward did specifically for acouting overhaul. Brought in external consultants who helped to build a overbloated, useless scouting network.

It certainly all sounds promising and is no less than what has been desperately needed for a long time. Let's hope this all translates to significantly improved standards on the pitch in coming years.

From that Telegraph piece: "Murtough’s remit has extended to infrastructure, facilities, staffing and the women’s team."

I would have thought that most of that would be Collette Roche's responsibility. His workload must be horrendous - the deputy DoF appointment cannot come soon enough!

A Deputy and a Head of Women's Football as well which will take a lot away thankfully

Will hold off getting excited until I see who we recruit and who we get rid of (or don't). All this bluster won't count for much if we ultimately get the party line about 'huge potential in squad' and we're watching McTominay starting in CM again come September.

I‘m optimistic on the fact that Woodward is no longer around to feck our shit up from his office in Mayfair as he tries to be Florentino Perez.

The guy Murtough hired was an interim manager and was a fecking trainreck. do you not find it weird that as soon as Ten Hag took over basically the consultancy was scrapped? clearly didn't want to work with him or felt he wasn't needed

Not buying that tweet. Murtough 'challenging the players over unacceptable standards' only to let the man brought in to change these standards go?

I bet the player WhatsApp group is bouncing this morning. Another one they've got rid of. Bunch of fecking cretins.

We'll wait and see but for now it's still the same old media briefings while we wait for the club to actually do something.

The upgrades at Carrington are already underway
But those happened because Ronaldo said so, because despite all evidence one claim said so and the people making actual decisions aren’t actually doing anything because… I dunno I’ve not worked out what part of the depressing narrative dweebs are trying to push is. Something to do with Rangnick being the only way to improve I bet.

I don't know about other decisions, but Rangnick certainly seemed to be a Murtough-led appointment. It's his name on all the statements, and according to reports it was he who suggested Ralf, rang him and (alongside Fletcher) conducted the interview. I still think it's too early to write him off, but it doesn't look like he's off to the best of starts.

Hilarious that Neville used the expression 'best in class' a few times and now the club regurgitates it back to the fans.

Very hard not to notice this as well. I don't know if its funny, alarming or illuminating. Maybe all 3?
