This is unbelievable. He's really not going to go, is he?
It doesn't matter who says it, how many people resign, whether or not the 1922 committee change the rules.
Man is going to fight to his dying breath for no reason other than to stay in the post - because he doesn't even have a single policy he's actually passionate about.
I can't wrap my head around it
Telling Boris if he doesn’t resign he’ll get his British nationality stripped and sent back to Turkey.Telling Boris that she will ship all the traitors to Rwanda on the next plane
You think he's going to walk? The only real decision is to announce it before the 6pm or 9pm news
He's not going to go voluntarily.
The only thing that matters to him is power. He knows that he made it to the top job and when he's gone that's it. He will never have that power again so he will cling on for dear life.
The rest is all secondary.
But he will be gone.
Yes... I think he will see it as a better personal legacy than loosing a confidence voteYou think he's going to walk?
How does that get Boris out?
But as you say, he is on borrowed time.
Boris is heading for the buffers and seemingly he is willing to take his party with him, his mind set is probably 'I won us the 80 seat majority by getting many people who in a million years would never have voted for the Tories, except for Brexit. So I will leave it to the public to turf me out in a GE, its up to you (Tory Party) to back me or sack me before the public gets to decided'.
The Tory Grandee's are now going to have their mettle tested!
How does that get Boris out?
How does that get Boris out?
Interesting point.
Assuming he manages to stay until Monday and the new 1922 Committee pass a rule change and there is then another confidence vote, which he looses, doesn't he then have to stand down before he could call a snap election?
If the new committee voted to change the rules and allow a second confidence vote.
Maybe not till Monday when the 1922 Committee which sets the rules for elections within the Tories is going to elect a Committee. They are then likely to change the rules for confidence votes allowing another confidence vote for the PM.
But it is possible that he will go before then.
But as you say, he is on borrowed time.
I dont think he'll go. He wont go willingly and they cant force him, probably drag on a bit longer.
Not today, i was replying to elvis postOf course they can force him, quite easily in fact.
Not until next week.Of course they can force him, quite easily in fact.
Dunno I liked his jibe earlier during PM's "Isn't this the first recorded case of the sinking ships fleeing the rat"starmer has been anonymous. force him into campaigning and i'm not sure labour's polling lead would hold. as divided as the tories are right now, labour is also massively divided.
