Lewis should have made his own call to pit for softs and sacrifice track position.
Isn't that just true. They made numerous suspect calls last year and when you're dealing with exceptional strategists like Red Bull, you have to be bettermercedes strategists are so lucky that ferrari exist.
TrueMost likely yes but they didn’t even try.
Not totally Russell said he wanted softs and they said yes they should have put Lewis on softs. You kidding? A buffer have them a chance to win!
Yeah no. You’re talking bollocks. He’s been hung out to dry.
Was never about the Red Bull. They weren't going to beat Max but they could have had an easy 2-3 if they put Hamilton on softs but now Hamilton doesn't have a chance against Leclerc. Shocking from Mercedes, threw Hamilton under the busMerc have completely screwed Hamilton here, but the Red Bull is so much faster the race was done as soon as Max was given softs.

Please, his car is super quick, we saw what happens when he's got real competition last year.Verstappen is like Haaland. Completely unstoppable.

The call was leave out both to try and win. Or pit both. Those were their only options. What they did was throw away a guaranteed 2nd and 3rd with zero chance of an improbable win. It was bullshit.Do you genuinely think there was a chance of a Mercedes win when that safety car was coming out? The Red Bull is a rocket, and new boots strapped to it is game over. The only chance of a Mercedes win was on tyre strategy and degradation. Safety car nullifies all of that and puts the race back to neutral. They aren't quick enough, regardless of whatever tyre is put on.
So many times I've screamed wtf are you doing with the Merc strategies and I think my first one like that was Monaco in 2016 when they pitted Hamilton a few laps before the end of the race.what i like is that people in this thread, who spend most of the grand prix eating jam from a jar with their fist, saw this coming but somehow mercedes didn’t.
I just want to check, is there still as asterisk on Max for this championship?
Yeah, once an asterisk always an asteriskI just want to check, is there still as asterisk on Max for this championship?
No one was criticising the merc strategy to one stop, considering they had an incredibly good chance of winning before the VSC and SC.So many times I've screamed wtf are you doing with the Merc strategies and I think my first one like that was Monaco in 2016 when they pitted Hamilton a few laps before the end of the race.
That cost Hamilton a championship

Why? He’s driven brilliantly.Lewis should have retired at the end of last season.
I think you are right. Not the first time he has made a good callAm I right in saying Russell is pretty quick on making correct calls or is this just an outlier?
yes. he is only winning it as he’s the fastest driver in the fastest car.
russell showing again how rubbish hamilton is by finishing ahead of him.
Right. So if you - man on internet is telling me they had no chance of a win - why did they leave Hamilton out on old mediums against verstappen on new softs RIGHT BEHIND HIM? Explain how that wasn’t a bullshit decision? They never had chance of a win, it doesn't even come into a conversation. They would be likely 5th and 6th if they were left out on mediums. They're going to likely get a podium with Russell now.
