F1 2022 Season

Am I right in saying Russell is pretty quick on making correct calls or is this just an outlier?

The team radios between both drivers at Mercedes during that safety car was Russell asking for more from the team, can he go on softs and can he go to Strat 9 at the restart. Hamilton was concerned about the buffer. Russell looks to have called it right here.

Woeful from Perez, hanging himself out to dry on a car with a time penalty

A ferrari masterclass from mercedes today. Had a double podium locked up and they threw it away. Bizarre.

Right. So if you - man on internet is telling me they had no chance of a win - why did they leave Hamilton out on old mediums against verstappen on new softs? Explain how that wasn’t a bullshit decision?

If you've watched F1 for long enough you'll know that Mercedes should have put Hamilton on new softs in line with the other drivers. It's a Mercedes feck up for not pitting Hamilton onto softs, it's as simple as that.

To be fair to Russel, he's had a cracking race. Alongside Alonso driver of the day easily.

Merc fecked it, you either pit both or you pit neither, it’s just ridiculous again and shows they have always been terrible in these situations. Ask yourself roles reversed if RB pit Perez and not Max in that situation?

One team is ruthless and one isn’t.

They are not only far behind Red Bull with the car but also on strategy.

Even if Merc do ever make a decent car again, George is going for force the issue of being the favoured driver. He’s no Valteri.

How many points have the SCs cost Lewis this season...Australia, Silverstone, here?

Another wasted sunday afternoon watching this dubious shit. Max would have won anyway but we could have had a race.

Utter rubbish this race allows dhows he still wants to fight for wins.

yeah but he no longer has the power to sway decisions his way.

I'm not saying he's crap and can't win, I'm saying that F1 is moving on from him

Kinda how Ronaldo is still good but clearly doesn't have the same clout anymore

Then what are you arguing about? feck me. It was either pit neither if you think there’s a chance he wouldn’t pass both - which it turns out there was zero chance - or you pit both.

Merc showing that sometimes they are just as bad as Ferrari when it comes to strategy.

Verstappen HUMILIATING britain's best Russel and Hamilton in one race. The latter is used to seeing the flying dutchman zoom past him, Russel is getting a taste of what his bright future is going to be like: watching red bull car's ass.

What a day. Racing to an overwhelming second championship. I'm buzzing.

No one is arguing ffs  The only strategy was to pit for new softs. You said there was other calls, there wasn't.

The call was leave out both to try and win. Or pit both.

Leaving both out and trying to win was never an option which is the point I was contending. The only option was to pit both. Mercedes didn't go this and only went with one call, and the results speak.

I think the mistake by Mercedes was probably not informing Hamilton that Russell was going in for softs so he couldn't make an informed decision on his own tyres.

Russell's call was last minute in the pits, Hamilton was past the pit box when Russell decided to come in. There was never an opportunity to make a call.
