When is the Champions League round of 16 draw?
The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw is scheduled for 12:00 CET on Monday 7 November at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Which teams are through to the Champions League round of 16?

Group winners (seeded)
Bayern (GER)
Benfica (POR)
Chelsea (ENG)
Man City (ENG)
Napoli (ITA)
Porto (POR)
Real Madrid (ESP)
Tottenham (ENG)

Group runners-up (unseeded)
Club Brugge (BEL)
Dortmund (GER)
Frankfurt (GER)
Inter (ITA)
Leipzig (GER)
Liverpool (ENG)
Milan (ITA)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA)

How does the Champions League round of 16 draw work?
  • The draw respects the following principles, in accordance with Paragraphs 13.07 and 18.01 of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League Regulations:
    - The group winners are seeded above the runners-up.
    - Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.
    - Group winners must be drawn against runners-up from a different group.
    - The runners-up play the first leg at home.
  • Eight balls containing the names of the group runners-up are placed in a bowl.
  • A first ball is drawn from the bowl. The team drawn is placed as the home team in match 1.
  • In accordance with the above draw conditions, the computer then shows which group winners are eligible to play as the visiting team in match 1. These teams' names are placed in a bowl.
  • A ball is drawn from that bowl to complete the pairing for match 1. The team drawn is placed as the visiting team in match 1.
  • The above procedure is repeated for the remaining matches.
  • If the computer indicates that only one group winner is eligible to play as the visiting team in a match, that team is automatically assigned to the match and no ball is drawn.
When does the Champions League round of 16 start?
The first legs are scheduled for 14/15/21/22 February, with the second legs on 7/8/14/15 March. Kick-offs are at 21:00 CET.

What are the rest of the key dates?
Quarter-final and semi-final draw: 17 March 2023
Quarter-finals: 11/12 & 18/19 April 2023
Semi-finals: 9/10 & 16/17 May 2023
Final: 10 June 2023

Just doing a rough doofus estimate, Bayern have 3 German teams in pot 2 that are ineligible for them and Liverpool have 3 English teams in pot 1 that are ineligible. Surely it's odds on we face them?

You’re lucky there are bigger nerds than you out there.

Yeah, Liverpool Bayern is very likely.

Edited to avoid confusion with actual draw!

They should just do away with keeping teams from the same nations at this stage and have it anyone can draw anyone.
Absolutely. The latter stages would be less likely to be dominated by just one or two leagues, fewer all-Spanish or all-English finals. The big leagues would probably kick up a fuss though.

Leipzig v Manchester City
Brugge v Benfica
Liverpool v Real Madrid
AC Milan v Tottenham
Frankfurt v Napoli
Dortmund v Chelsea
Inter v Porto
PSG v Bayern

Red bulls vs PED bulls

Brugge v Benfica. Best draw possible for both teams I guess

Liverpool v Porto (AGAIN) incoming.

Well, not drawing Pool is almost as good as getting Brugge.

Frankfurt - Napoli.. I think PSG Bayern is 100% sure given Bayern cant face Inter and BVB

RAWK is going to be an interesting read the next couple of days

That said, I don't know why but I feel this might be the year where Liverpool knocks them out

BVB Chelsea.. This means Porto Inter and PSG Bayern sure

Has to be Bayern PSG now, doesn't it?
Yeah.. well, not a big fan of that

Fecking hell Madrid again. At least this time they will be huuuge favourites instead of us usually being the slight favourites.

So what we saying then, city vs Brugge as they always get the easiest draw. City can beat any of them who came runners up. They’ll struggle against a few teams who topped the groups though.

AC Milan v Tottenham, Porto v Inter and Frankfurt v Napoli for the italians..

If we can't have 2 teams in the Quarters then we're really a farmers league..

PSG not getting to the quarter finals again

PSG could have been more arsed and scored another goal and they'd have Brugge. Instead, they'll probably end up with Bayern.

PSG got Bayern because of timewasting

Fantastic. Win 6/6 just to get paired against PSG. That's fun.
