Kane doesn’t care about trophies. That much is obvious
TBF it's not like we're winning trophies every season like City. Think if he does eventually leave it'll be to Bayern or somewhere outside of England.

Not saying we should not sign Kane but the price would have to be reasonable, I suspect Levy will still ask for £100m even though he will be 30 and have 1 year left on his contract, that seems to much I guess I would not feel comfortable if the club paid much over £50m, ok world class player will break all prem records but just not sure.... but then signing him at any cost just because who else is also not a great thing.
I trust ETH's judgement, TBH would love to see Kane in a Utd shirt, but then I guess I am a bit off put by players like Ronaldo, Sanchez etc... who have come too late, with too much money attached
Shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone that he wants to renew. Guy is a loser with no serious ambitions beyond personal accolades. He's comfortable where he is and doesn't have the big club mentality.
We need to move on and not make this bloke our annual summer 'chasing shadows' target.
Yeah what a loser not wanting to join a club whose last big trophy was in 2017.
Who said he's a loser for not wanting to join United?
You literally finished your post with "We need to move on and not make this bloke our annual summer 'chasing shadows' target".
Can't argue against this after his first long term contract extension with them.Let him stay, he lacks ambition, and clearly doesn't have the mindset to deal with the pressure of playing for a top club like Manchester United.

By that time he was wanted by many and could easily have ended up at City for example and would have won the league but he opted to stay at Tottenham...
If he does extend again it just proves what you said about his mentality..
Yes, but with a player like that we're be in a better place for start winning trophies. Especially since with ETH we got a good thing going.TBF it's not like we're winning trophies every season like City. Think if he does eventually leave it'll be to Bayern or somewhere outside of England.

Luckily Casemiro felt something a lot of our fans dont which is obvious in - we havent won anything since 2017, why would he come - type of posts.I felt this is what Casemiro felt when joining us, that we are the next best thing going and was happy to join us.
If Casemiro did then Kane could as well.

I wonder if we've told him that we aren't interested?
Maybe we've identified some younger players that we'd rather go for?
If we aren't interested, it doesn't really give him many other options. Man City are the only club that would pretty much guarantee him trophies and he's missed the boat to go there now, so maybe he's decided just to try and milk Spurs for as much as he can?

A key difference is that Casemiro had already won a lot. The reported motivation for him coming here (aside from the financial stuff) was less to win trophies and more a desire for a new challenge.
Whereas Kane doesn't have those CL and La Liga titles already in the bag, so is possibly less interested in a new challenge than simply winning things. Because whatever he wins in the next few years is it for his career. If he went to Bayern for example he would be guaranteed league wins in a way he wouldn't anywhere else, plus however many years trying in the CL. For a man with no trophies, that might be tempting.

Next season's CL teams will be Arsenal, city, Spurs and Newcastle. So I can see why he'll just stay. Arsenal is a no-go, city moved on and Newcastle are a couple of seasons away.
It's more that I just know United too well, Spurs & Newcastle will simply profit from itImagine not being a Spurs fan and believing in them this much, bizarre.
Well he tried to move to Man City so I don’t see why he wouldn’t try move again.
There is more to life than winning a trophy or two. He is a father and might not want to move his family to a new place.
It’s not a black and white situation.

But he doesn't play for Arsenal.Kane staying at Spurs is a no-brainer for him whatsoever, there's no pressure to challenge for anything and he will be handsomely rewarded. It's a bit like Shearer at Newcastle. Count your money and play football with no pressure for the team you support.
Yes United have a history of finishing behind Spurs and Newcastle, don’t they?

I think Weghorst today gave is a glimpse of what Kame would offer us

The main reason I'd sign Kane over other options would be if Utd had a shedload of cash, meaning they could therefore still afford to sign someone like Ferguson as well to be his understudy and eventual successor. It'd also help prevent Kane being run in to the ground when his pace and fitness issues have been a concern. Really Utd will need to sign 2 CFs soon anyway (even this summer), with Weghorst and Martial unlikely to be at the club next season.
Signing a stop-gap like Thuram or Osimhen might be short-sighted and block the chance of signing someone like Ferguson who could actually develop to be the next big thing.
