Nor should you but this should be what City fans see as a chance to get the club back, don't get me wrong it was fun winding people up on here for the past 8 years or whatever. But this is the time for real change, hopefully then the government don't swallow what the PL are doing by offering City up to avoid a regulator and others follow suit.
City will still go on even if we have to do a Rangers, but hopefully it changes our ownership and leads to widescale looks into all clubs and the league itself. Its a great chance to deal with Cities owners and clean the league completely.

I have never understood this argument - consider an alternative reality in which there were no FFP rules...how is it BETTER for smaller clubs/mid-sized clubs if teams like Newcastle and Manchester City can spend with no restrictions?

Any reasonable fan somewhat capable of critical thinking should be welcoming of the investigation, as it might be the only chance they have at getting rid of their owners. This might be the one time they have a genuine chance at ending the abuse of their club as a vehicle for sportswashing.

It’s not, and I’m not trying to say it is! I’m saying FFP loaded the dice in favour of the already-big clubs. The one avenue that was open to a smaller/medium club (getting external investment) was closed, leading to the same few clubs being top of the tree in perpetuity.
It surely also is a opportunity to clear the clubs name as well, no?
Basically, there was a time limit on the investigation and City's lawyers managed to stall and delay and obstruct for long enough that the case had to be dismissed due to the statute of limitations. City of course proclaimed themselves exhonerated, but reality is that they were proven guilty but got off on a technicality after obstructing the investigation for so long that it had to be dropped. It was some real Trump shit.

There’s 100 charges at least. Juventus got found guilty of 1 breach and were docked 15 points and (I think) a transfer ban.

I agree with you 100% on ffp it was certainly shaped to keep the top clubs at the top, but we knew the rules and agreed to them. We could have easily fought ffp in court early days but instead thought "we're already through the door, feck everyone else" and then cut what looks like a very dodgy deal with Uefa in 2014.

Money talks, and my view is that City are above the law, understood in the sense that they have the money and the lack of morals to be able to cast doubt on their guilt. Exactly as it happened when they were banned from CL but appealed and got away with a fine
