The early goals unsettled his own team?
Wow. Carragher sounds like he's genuinely about to cry and is choking up.
When the show cut to the studio there was a little vibe, smiles dying off. I bet someone said to Gerrard you have to do the slip.Liverpool supporting viewers must have loved BT tonight.
McManaman has been bigging Madrid up all night on commentary (‘this is the competition when the big boys come to town’)
In the studio you have die hard United man Rio.
You also have a guy who loves Liverpool so much he came to play for us.
And a guy who’s defining moment was costing Liverpool a league title
That's interesting. When players become pundits and we see and hear them close up, they become regular people. Its funny the different dynamics in different studios. Very academic with Lineker and Shearer. Ubearable with Souness, especially without Keano to put manners on him. I like Rio, I have to say.
I'll remember thisThose famous European nights at Anfield.
Honestly i liked him. Always in control, kept whistles to a minimum, kept his cards in check. Game was admittedly easy, but he did goodThis guy does not show cards.

xG can feck off. It ruins football discussions
Nah, they are not going to take a 3-goal lead at the Bernabeu. It is over.Loving the result but not beyond the realms of possibility for a Liverpool comeback only to lose in extra time in the second leg. I just like drama with popcorn on the side.
But we must share our revenue with the other top clubs!so every EPL club in CL lost bar City, who plays tomorrow.
I hate how it's suddenly become THE stat. You just know some rabid Scouser saw that 9 shots each stat and will try and argue they were hard done by that score.
I stand by it. Rashford does these 6-0 no problem.Isn't this pretty much what everyone were saying up until they reached the final last year?

It's fascinating, we never seem to be good in the same time as Liverpool.Utd are good again and Liverpool look a fecking shambles.
It feels so so good.

This...honestly wasn't a good game for xG. Very chaotic, most of the chances came off weird situations and mistakes. Does a good job in showing we were both good and lucky and Liverpool were a unlucky, but overall i don't think anyone who saw the game thinks this should have been anything but a Madrid win. Granted, 5-2 is too muchxG can feck off. It ruins football discussions
Well the first half was fun. Two sides attacking well and defending terribly. Wonder what the odds were on both keepers making howlers like that in the same game? Nunez took his goal well but I thought he was poor. Salah and Gakpo had a good first 45 minutes though. Vinicius is so good.
The second half was men against boys. Ancelotti and Klopp showing the managerial difference between serial winners and occasional ones. It says a lot that Ancelotti can get so much out of his players in their 30's and ours have declined so much. Hard not to admire Madrid and their CL voodoo. It's their competition and they know it.
That was 18% of the goals Liverpool have conceded in the CL at Anfield under Klopp scored tonight. Kind of felt like when Club Brugge play someone decent at home in Europe, go 1-0 up then get absolutely battered. That's it, we're Brugge.
4-0 away win in Madrid coming up...no probably not but it's fun to pretend right?
