I would like us to get Kane but wouldn't go a pound over £75m for him. He will be 30 and with one year left I think 75m is a fair deal.

Seems somewhat safe to assume that Spurs won't sell Kane and will force him to stay another year. His fault for signing that contract without a buyout clause. Nothing wrong with loyalty to a club, but wanting to leave after signing the contract and complaining that they aren't competing (when there was no logic to think they would ever seriously compete) was just dumb on his side.
They'll need money to replace him though. I think they'll sell at the right price.

PLayers who are loyal and ambitious should look to get buy out clauses if their team doesn't perform.
I see Spurs playing hard ball and Kane signing a new deal after they force him to stay. If he stays on at Spurs past this summer, we shouldn't look to sign him, we need a player who has the drive to win.
Or they may be betting on United will just buy someone else this summer, meaning the year after Kane won't have any more english clubs going for him. Spurs seem a bit stubborn with him and like they don't want to enter a rebuild and would rather stick it out with Kane than take the money and start over.
Pretty much any signing for any club should force a buyout clause in their contract like Haaland did. Ultimately it's up to the player if they want to leave even if a club meets it. Arrange something fair for a few years from then, and if the club doesn't agree then you don't extend the contract. If a player has aspirations of moving on, you just get fecked if you don't have it in.
I think they would have different valuation for domestic teams as opposed to foreign teams. Whether we like it or not Spurs is Man Utd's direct competition for top 4 spots, so if you were them you'd naturally demand way more money for selling to a competitor.
EDIT: My point is that if Kane is adamant on leaving and not renewing, then if Real Madrid come with a £70m offer this summer to replace Benzema I think Levy will sell.
Yeah I agree, any other club coming in for him from abroad will significantly cheaper. The thing is, levy knows Kane won't want to go abroad because of his pursuit of the record.

Having said that, I think we should explore other options before Kane.
That was an inflated transfer fee; around £20m of that fee was a bunch of random youth players who were never good enough but were tacked on with massively inflated transfer values. Those players never ended up even playing for Lille and their contracts were terminated a year later.

If Kane waits another year, we won't. We'll have Osimhen or another #9 and won't need him. Clock's ticking on Kane's chances to win trophies, I doubt he'll wait it out.
Might as well get Son while we're at it. Then Kane can play with his old midfield of Eriksen and Son.
Pretty sure that was a shady deal with some other youngsters going the other way at highly inflated transfer fees.

Well yeah, I heard some journo on Sky this morning saying United would need to pay upto £150 million to get him in the summer, we'd honestly be have to be off our rocker to go to half that for a player with one year left on his contract, and he said it with straight face aswell.
You look at these Kane rumours and I think non of it coming from our side, if we are interested then I doubt we'll go near him unless it's sub £60 million, and guaranteed to be hassle free.

We should just offer them a very generous offer, if levy says no, make an arrangement with kane to come the following year. I got a feeling he will stay at spurs though, levy is too difficult to deal with and he’s not a rock the boat kind of player.
Osimhen will be closer to £150m, and perhaps exceeding that. Chelsea will be in for him also as Kane isn't an option for them, which is going to put enormous upwards pressure on the price.

It’s a balance though. We need a striker this summer. We can’t go into next season with Weghorst as first choice. We therefore need to sign someone and Kane is the best we can get. Also, paying for him this summer avoids the risk of a bidding war when he is on a free, when the likes of City and Liverpool might well decide it is worth that expense, despite having other number 9 options.
Conversely, Spurs need to sell him. They can’t lose him for nothing the following summer. That’s terrible business. As such, they won’t be able to hold out for £100m or whatever other nonsense figures are being held out.
My view is somewhere between £50-£75m is a fair price taking everything into account.

If anything, Hazard's a great argument against paying that much for a player with one year left on his contract.
This is probably what will happen. Tottenham will ask for a sizable fee for him even with only a year left in his contract, and probably no one will pay that.
A younger Kane would really be the perfect fit for this side. We can do the Kane / Son thing with Kane / Rashford. This is partly why I don't want Osimhen.

Why not? Bayern has Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as stop gap for this season and next. Strengthen other area first.
Choupo is not great but A LOT better than Weghorst
what i am saying is IF money is an issue, get players for other area first and sign Kane on a free later. Man Utd probably needs another CM, LB, and GK this summer, may be even a RB.
Looks that way now but funnily enough, Weghorst was generally more prolific in the Bundesliga.

Why is winning championships the only criteria for success? They had a really good link up between the two of them for a fair bit under Ole too if memory serves. Two players linking up well or not linking up well != trophies.
