Yeah, that’s my take, for a player who is completely unproven at the highest level and has had one standout season in a relatively weak Serie A. It would be absolute madness buying him for over £100m if we can get Kane.
The way to do it is to buy Kane and then look to pick up someone in the 20/21 age range as cover, to step up in about 5 years when Kane will probably start to fade.
If 100 million is the price needed to sign either of them, I'd say move on from both. We, or most clubs, don't have a good record of signing extremely high value players. All our 75 million plus signings (Pogba, Maguire, Lukaku, Antony) have been unsuccessful to varying degrees.
