Good news I think - he has looked to have a little bit of a niggle recently, so a couple of weeks break seems ideal. Would have been a disaster for us if he’d made it worse playing for England.
I'm not quite seeing the same player as of a few weeks ago. Tends to look a bit nonchalant in certain situations. Because he's been doing so well for us recently we tend to look past his mistakes. At the moment he's making far too many.
He's been poor for a few games, nothing crazy considering the incredible run of form he has been on. This injury might be a reason for his poor play too and this break will hopefully be good to him
We also haven’t given him much service. Appreciate we expect him to just do incredible things on his own but it would really help if we had control of the midfield etc. On the odd occasion we did get the ball to him, he still looked dangerous yesterday - two nice key passes to Bruno and Weghorst and a beautiful cross that someone should have been on the end of.
Very good point mate
Players would do that only for a good manager. So it is a measure of the manager.
I agree he still looks dangerous just a couple things like tracking back a bit less and being a bit more selfish/unsuccessful with his attacking play that I think some have picked up on. The midfield is definitely our weakness right now though and Eriksen back after the international break will be huge.
Must have missed it, what did he say?Southgate will be delighted. No Rashford means no questions about why he continues to pick his favourites ahead of Rashford.
Southgate's comments after Qatar 22, about why Rashford didn't play more, genuinely laughable.
Put Varane for Martinez on that list. Martinez and Shaw on a lower tier. Bruno below them. We can cover Martinez with Shaw in a short period, as Malacia is quite good. We lose a lot, but still have a good level. If Varane is out then it's an instant big drop off compared to Lindelof of Maguire. Bruno out we'd be pretty ok still with Eriksen/Fred/Casemiro midfield 3, or Sancho as a 10, or Sabitzer and Fred around casemiro to having a super solid midfield group.
Rashford and Casemiro by far the 2 most noticeable losses though. Nobody who can do what they do in our squad. Martial too, arguably, if injured wasn't his natural state.
Is this a serious post?

Our highest scorer after Rashy has like 6 goals. We'd have been screwed this season without him given the Ronaldo drop off and the Martial injuries.
I suppose you were ok with people saying Ole only had a job because of Bruno? It's just hyperbole. Rashford is clearly our best attacker, and alas, our talisman. We have a non-scoring CF, and Antony is still settling in. Rashford has stepped up, and I commend ETH on getting the best out of him.

I'm not getting in his back by the way. ETH was my number 1 choice and delighted we have him.
Rashford finding his form has definitely papered over some cracks though. Recent weeks have shown that the cracks are still there with this team.
Not a great game today but ETH would be clinging on for dear life for his job without him.
Martial needs to grow a bleeding pair after the international break and stop being such a pansy. Rashford can't carry us all by himself three times a week.
I know what you're saying, we'd be buggered without him.
But hopefully the club and fans would all make a managerial allowance for us not having anyone who can get in double figures.
We would absolutely. If Martial could stay fit less so as I think he'd score a fair amount too. Trouble is he can't stay fit.
Funny how football works isn't it? He was the player everyone couldn't wait to bash last season and now he's the one player we can't really do without until we address the forward position in the summer.
This isn’t even one of those bullshit selfish Ferguson power moves. The guy has legitimately played so fecking much this season.
Take a gander at these appearance stats and look who are the top 3 for all competitions in the entire world this season:

Southgate played Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and Kane to start. Rashford came on later. Hardly some puzzling outlandish choice. You didn’t want him at the World Cup Gareth, so tough shit. Give that man a spa day and tell him we‘ll see him in April.

Well I know you're a big Rashford fan so it felt to you he was getting the brunt of the criticism. To me everyone was getting slated and probably rightly so
He fully earned the right to. Some national managers, like Southgate and Moriyasu (Japan), deserve the middle finger for being absolute dipshits towards their most in-form players at the moment.Chilling around in New York according to his Insta Profil. He is quite active posting pictures and stories the last 24 hours.
Definitely a little bit of a "feck youu" into the direction of Southgate for me.
And I would fully support him if so.
