Yep. Having read through their Kane threads, I'm now decidedly against this.
Even when praising him they speak about his lack of mobility and inability to press as fact. And I would have that as essential for any CF we sign, because I've had more than enough of us trying to work around players who can't press well enough.
And one of the main things they (rightly) praise him for is how good he is when he drops into midfield. But I absolutely do not want our CF doing that. Spurs need it, we don't.
It's nothing that hasn't been highlighted in this thread already but seeing Spurs fans speaking about it with such clarity too just sealed it in my mind. For some teams it'll absolutely be worth working around his weaknesses for his obvious qualities but not us.
We need 2 strikers, Kane or not. Market will determine his price. I doubt anyone will pay top dollars for him, he may leave 40-50 million. If he has the longevity of Zlatan then it is worth the buy.
He's not going to leave for that little. Spurs would much prefer to keep him for an extra season and let him go for free than only get that much. 60m is the absolute minimum we'd be looking at, and they might hold out for 70m or even 80m. Anything over that obviously goes into the absolutely unrealistic amount that nobody will pay, so they'll be left with an unhappy striker that they priced out of a move that they then lose for nothing in 12months.
Absolutely no way he leaves for as little as that.
Cash 40 million and Martial swapped would be perfect.
It would be good for rashford TBF but still leave Rashford as the essential attacker as the only guy who can make off the ball runs and has pace.
Osimhen presses like mad, and is that off ball threat with pace. Probably why I prefer him.

He also camps in the opposition box. He has that hunger for goals. Kane strikes the ball extremely hard and is a presence from dead balls, but his general forward no.9 play (not his ability in the buildup) has deteriorated.

I think it'll be Bayern. I think we'll prioritize Osimhen and are more likely to spend big for him, while Spurs will let Bayern have Kane on half the price it would take for us to get him.
What makes you say we will prioritise Osimhen?

I had a preference for Osimhen anyway but now I'm thinking I might prefer to see us opt for one of the other young strikers ahead of Kane too.
Seeing those Spurs fans discussing his lack of pressing and the need to work around it triggered me, especially when one of them compared him to Ronaldo in that regard (even though he definitely isn't that bad). I don't want us to import that talking point into our team again.

He plays in a dysfuctional team. We should know what that do do a player. Read the Rashford-thread a year ago if not. Luke Shaw. Even Martial.
I think Kane may still have his eye on PL top scorer. Of course somewhere like Bayern he is almost certain to win trophies but I can't help but think he will want to cement his legacy in the PL.
The issue is he doesn't have a lot of options due to the price and Spurs being difficult to negotiate with.
If his number one priority is the all-time Premier League top scorer record, I honestly think he should simply stay at Spurs. He's settled there, the team is and will be built around him, the fans revere him as a god. Stepping out of his comfort zone is a big risk.

Will he reach it with Tottenham, though? They look like a team on a serious decline. It could get a lot worse and will make scoring a lot harder.

If he came to United for example he would get plenty of goal scoring chances, a better chance to win trophies and probably a huge contract. I definitely see a lot of reasons for him to move.
Scoring goals hasn't been Arsenal problem , their whole team dynamic would change with Kane and not for better I am afraid .
Mainly due to this Spurs team being utterly crap. He isn’t going to be far off 30 league goals regardless. Put him in City’s team and he is on 40+ and the title race is already over.
I don't know what you're afraid? But I also disagree... he's an improvement on Jesus and most certainly Nketiah. Basically half of their dropped points can come to their lack of finishing in games, while I don't see why he drops the standards of Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard... they'd work perfectly with him.
What else is he supposed to do? He's dragged them to where they are in the table.

Yeah, whatever about the merits of Kane as a signing for us, Spurs being Spurs isn't on him. They should be absolutely desperate for him to stay.
Great striker but I'm not convinced of his mentality. May be unfair, but he's always struck me as a bit of a loser.

I don't think it will be as high as other people are expecting. They will essentially have a 6-month player if they keep him. He will check out as soon as January comes and he signs for another club with no return in sight.
Tottenham will probably push for £80m, but I think they will drop quite a bit as they know it is idiotic to keep him.
Even if Nagelsmann came in as young and exciting coach, don't think that would be enough for him to stay. Would he go to Chelsea if Pochettino becomes their manager? That would mean losing respect at Spurs so United seems like most realistic option.

If Mr Southgate hadn't bottled so many big matches - Italy especially - this wouldn't even be a question because he was our best player in what could've been one or even two trophy winning tournaments
