Liverpool had Jota, Diaz injured the majority of the season, and an absolute dud like Nunez, yet they have outscored us by 20 goals. And supposedly they have been horrible yet managed to humiliate us by scoring 7 goals while also showing mercy. I've been very welcoming towards ETH but these last 2 months I have serious doubts. Even if he manages to get top 4, he will probably get the sack by the new year.

Right now the signings he has made are regressing( Lisandro excluded obviously) and the players he inherited are now playing at Ole and Rangnick levels again. If he cant inspire this team to fight for top 4 with a few games left then he has no business being the Utd manager. You would expect a Sunday League manager to do that.
Last night the players looked as if they hadn't a clue and couldn't care less which is exactly like last season. Then we had the uncertainty excuse. Now some are blaming massive fatigue.

Of course the manager should go if top 4 isnt achieved, this is Manchester United for god sake! The SAF/Busby overseer model is long gone and we as a club need to move forward and that goes for the fanbase as well. And we should always have the highest standards, we should only not replace players or managers for failure if there's no one better to replace them. Simple as that.

Non-existent football structure, incompetent scouting department, no experience DOF, no track record CEO, toxic characters in the squad, underperforming high pay players, unmotivated bunch, weak mentality players, under constant pressure from media, ETH is new to PL, and the list goes on with lots of other problem at the club.
He deserves at least another season. He just need better players to play his style of play. He has shown when it works the football was a joy to watch.

Absolutely shouldn't be sacked but those acting like it wouldn't be a disaster to finish 5th are repeating the mistakes of Ole top red fans.

After all the failings, clearly some of the players need to be held accountable. Sack ETH and these bottling cnuts get another season of high wages and low performance and the cycle begins again.

Anyone saying he has a weak squad to work with, nobody is forcing him to keep starting weghorst and I don't even mean as a striker but as a no.10 as well which is probably the most concerning thing about ten hag this season is his insistence on playing such a crap football player that offers absolutely nothing but running around a lot, it's worse than moyes buying fellaini and trying to use him in a 2 man midfield
I'm still in the ETH camp....just, but honestly how many times can we say that our football has been a joy to watch this season. Some results, of course, but the actual football didn't give me a lot of joy.

We don't have enough good attacking fullbacks which is making our wingers look a lot worse than they actually are, and we obviously miss a quality CF that can be relied upon.
In all honesty, we are not going to see a fully fledged ETH team until the 2024/2025 season. Thanks again to Woodward, Solskjaer and all the fans/pundits who called for him to become permanent manager and were happy to keep him for 3 years. This was always going to take time to fix.

Sack Ten Hag now and these underperfoming players get to start again with a new manager. Look at the mess he took over and he's done a good job so far, he's improved certain players that looked finished but there's other players that have been letting us down for years and need replacing, the squad clearly isn't good enough so what available manager will come in and do better with it

We’ve made progress. We’ve won a trophy, we’re in another final. We are going to finish in the CL places. I am confident of that. He’s got as long as he likes frankly. Of all the problems this club has to solve to get back to the top, the manager isn’t one.

Some of these players need to be sacked before we sack another manager if we’re being honest. It’s the same players that have let us down in recent years. Nothing will change if we sack him and these same players are still here.
You can bemoan the Anthony signing, while I personally think it's way too soon to write him off, that's fair enough. But blaming it for not being able to replace Ronaldo is just silly.
Are you expecting EtH to foresee that Ronaldo would quit? And that he'd have to save the money for January? That simply isn't a reasonable expectation.
The context has to be taken into account. ETH walked into an absolutely dreadful shitshow, handicapped with poor players who have had terrible coaching for their entire Man Utd careers and a dressing room that was mentally broken. He had to to deal with an attack that had the Ronaldo situation, Greenwood situation, Martial's injuries, Sancho's pricetag and struggles, Rashford being incredibly bad for the last two seasons, a midfield that was Fred and Scott as our strongest combo, a defence that had the Maguire situation, Varane's injury issues, AWB's limitations and De Gea behind them being utterly incapable of playing like a remotely all-round keeper. We then turned around and because of our relative success in the cups we played more games than any other team in the top five leagues while having that relatively weak and thin squad.
Of course he has made mistakes, and if we do miss out on top four he will have to take his share of the blame. But there's certainly been enough positives to make it ridiculous to sack him. If there's no sign of improvement next season then the question can definitely be asked, but I'm optimistic that there will be further improvement.

Acting like a professional football club and signing proper talent regardless of who is the manager. Not wasting precious time being strung around in the transfer window for players. Stop giving too much power to managers before they prove themselves and bending over backwards to get the players the manager demands. Do proper scouting of talent and signing them up. Stop acting desperate and pay over the odds wages for crap players. In short act like a proper football club. Teams like City are making money in player sales these days, that too by getting rid of players they don’t need. When have we ever done that?
The part that I find a bit perplexing is that when the season started I didn't think that top 4 was a given and I didn't think ETH's job was a one season project. So to me the OP makes little sense, questions should be asked about certain things like play time management or the almost religious belief in a 4231 that often doesn't bring balance but at full strength and fresh we have generally been good to very good.

We need to fix our midfield and bring a reliable striker or two.

He definitely shouldn't get the sack. The season shouldn't be evaluated on the results of the last few games - just as it shouldn't be evaluated after a few early wins. Changing the direction of the club was always a huge challenge and wouldn't go down without some pain. We have to stand that to finally do the next step. It isn't an option to try manager after manager hoping to find the one guy who coincidentally makes it work in his first season.
Lets hope he is willing to adapt to his situation, maybe show a bit more pragmatism and, mainly, lets hope that the recruitment department is really doing a great job this time to support him on his way.

You started well until the bolded part. Blind optimism with no accountability regarding ETH will not take UTD back to the top. Rival fans would be pissing themselves reading that.
My confidence on him is quite low at the moment, but I'd like to see him manage another season, see if he learned anything from this season.
No idea what some people have been watching. Barca away, Betis home and Spurs home are the only games off the top of my head that I've really enjoyed and been impressed by our performance levels. We've had good halves and games we've deserved to win but far from a joy to watch or particularly convincing.

Yes for me. Simply because I feel EtH is only as good as the players he has. He doesn’t seem to have a dogged philosophy like Klopp or Guardiola to coach the players. If we don’t finish top 4, we can forget about signing top talent that EtH needs. Then it’s going to be another wasted year.
